Johnnie's is far and away the best pastrami sandwich in Los Angeles. The outdoor seating area is nice with a great fire pit to keep you warm on those latte night visits. I love the pickles, people in the know will ask for the "atomic" mustard and clear those sinuses. I'm literally drooling just thinking about it.

“50's style fun on a bun hun.”

Johnnie's is A Favorite Staple of my family since 1960's , We'd drive by on movie night ,on the way to the Culver Drive -In Theater , sometimes we'd stop bye on the way home ! Then there'd be a MOB . But just like in childhood Johnnie's Juke Box played away. Inspiring some to sing or dance . Wether you sit outside at the fire pits or inside on a stool . The Pastrami is Delicious Sandy is calm & quick. Late night takes you back to days gone bye, simpler times. With the best food you just don't wanna miss . Hat's off to Johnnie's Pastrami , my mother asked me to take her there just last night . Just like Mom we won't know how to live without you. JUST LOVE THAT TOWER OF PASTRAMI !

“Where did the pastrami come from?????”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

I have been a fan of Johnnie's for 30 years. Now the pastrami is dry and has the flavor of cardboard and basically poor quality. Get it together. You gave a reputation to uphold.

“Come hungry, bring cash, enjoy!”
Reviewed October 26, 2013 via mobile

Been coming here since the 70's and true comfort food.

I prefer the corned beef to pastrami, either way, get it on a roll and add some hot mustard.

My wife swears that their chocolate shakes are the best in the world. Who am I to argue?!

Open late, till about 0100 Sunday/ Tuesday, till 0230 Wednesday and Thursday, and 0330 Friday and Saturday.

Make no excuse to skip this place, because once you make it here you will kick yourself for not coming sooner.

That is all. Carry on.

“Go for pastrami ”
Reviewed October 9, 2013 via mobile

My husband is a pastrami fan so this place was perfect for him. He got heaping piles of meat on rye. I had hoped for a salad. They only have cole slaw and potato salad sides so I has to settle for a hot dog.

It's a small and nothing fancy kind of a place with paper cups and baskets at prices you'd expect at a slightly more upscale establishment . And you need a quarter if you want to listen to music. Still the service is friendly and quick and if you want a good, fat pastrami on rye, you'll probably be satisfied.
