best complimentary continental breakfast I've come across! Fresh yogurt (not packaged), fruit, breads, muffins, dried fruit, nuts, coffee, teas, juice, etc. Fresh, beautifully presented. A lovely way to start the morning.

The lobby of the Culver Hotel transports everyone, yes everyone to another time and place. This very top and cushiest of feelings while sipping a drink and visiting with friends easily lets you feel you're in Europe. The guest rooms, meeting rooms and amazing dining-room all are worth a look-see, and an extended stay. We really LIKE the Culver Hotel in Culver City, CA.

this wonderful historic hotel opened at the beginning of the century and a lot of movies have been filmed here. Nowadays it retains its old charme, original interiors and furniture, spectacular bar and hall. It reminds me of the flat iron building in NY. Beside offering romantic old style accomodation, the bar restaurant is open to the public, they offer a very nice brunch over the week end, and several events throughout the week in the evening. It's worth a visit even if you don't sleep there!

We reserved a table for 3pm Christmas Day, having wanted to visit the hotel where the Munchkins stayed during filming of 'The Wizard of Oz ' ( and many other stars back in the day too ) In fact we had to call ahead to explain that we'd be late but the charming man on the phone explained that even though the restaurant was full and no longer accepting reservations that it wouldn't be a problem.
We were warmly received. The ambiance is great - although it's a modern and rather grand setting in the beautifully restored and modernized restaurant and bar, it is relaxed and warm with a large open fire against the winter cold, and a great mix of those who are enjoying drinks from the bar ,and tables of visitors for the food. The over all effect is very 'New York' .The menu was fixed price of $39 and was a choice from 4 appetizers, 4 Entrees and a selection of pastries/deserts from the desert buffet.
We were warned when we arrived that the service might be slow as they had many reservations, but in fact it was very relaxed and warm, the waitress at our table very attentive and charming, and it was great to be allowed to take the afternoon at an easy un hurried pace. In fact the food arrived promptly each time .
The appetizer salads were generous and delicious, also the Deviled Ham which was served with toast and thinly sliced roasted vegetables. The Lobster Bisque was wonderful and outstanding with generous large pieces of lobster in their great version of a classic.
The Chateaubriand Steak was wonderful with roasted vegetables as was the Roast Rib of beef with fennel crust and 'Broccolini' - and all the servings were generous too.
The cheesecake, bread pudding and english trifle deserts were the perfect way to complete a great meal.Congratulations Culver Hotel - we were so delighted to have made an excellent choice and will certainly be back again.
There are parking options nearby and valet parking should you want it.
