“So glad I stumbled across this place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2010

From the moment I emailed about booking until we walked out the door, Luu and Nam-Hau were helpful, gracious, and generous.

We had the first floor room, which has a private entry through the back and a private bathroom (though the bathroom is a few feet down the hall from the room -- no walking in your towel!). The bathroom is GORGEOUS, just like the rest of the house. The room was simple and offered a lot of closet space. We had the cot in there so it might not have felt as spacious as it really is, but the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.

Guests really are in the couple's home, which meant they had a few kind requests (no food in the rooms, no shoes inside). Respecting them and their wishes wasn't difficult by any means, though, and it didn't feel like we were being hovered over -- the only time I felt uncomfortable was when I had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night (and that was because I feared I might wake someone!).

Breakfast was simple but wonderful. It changed daily but always involved bread, fruit, and amazing small press coffee or tea. Luu and Nam-Hau would sit with us while we ate each morning and give us suggestions. The house is a few minutes away from the main streets of Culver City (lots of food, some shopping, and the really bizarre Museum of Jurassic Technology). If you come with a car, street parking is blissfully easy, and most of LA is a quick drive away.

A wonderful, peaceful place to stay -- I would love to go back to LA just to stay again!

We visited LA the first time with our company doing business. It was a very warm welcome by Luu and his family. The different kind of gardens and the koi pond have been inspiring for our work. It was a relaxing place. Luu's love to meet people was very pleasant. Everything we needed was near by. I recommend this place for everyone who needs a pleasant and inspiring environment with a detailed designed environment.-)

This was truly the best decision i could have made. Throughout my stay here i was welcomed with open arms and made to feel a part of a family atmosphere. Luu and Nam-Hau are truly amazing hosts and helped me tremendously with setting myself up as a student here in California. They have a beautiful home that is conveniently located in a very nice neighborhood near shops, bus stops etc. I would recommend their Bed and Breakfast to anyone as they made my experience at their home a memorable one.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
We make an attempt to create a habitat of happiness. It's a place to relax and reflect with the tranquility of the water garden. Our house was built in 2006, completed 2008, modeled after a craftsman style. It was a labor of love. Craftsmanship details featured both outside and inside the house. Detailed wood and stone workings. The house was built with environmental friendliness in mind. Heating is by hydronic heating system under hard-wood (hickory) floor throughout the house. Insulation by shredded blue jean. Whole house water filter. Power mostly by solar energy. Paint and stain are eco-friendly. No particle boards were used. Front yard has mature liquid ambers and curvy Korean grass. Koi fish are about 20 years old. Small water fall runs 24/7. Large water fall runs from about 8:30 am to 11:00 am. The kitchen, master bathroom, living room, and the front door were used to film a few scenes for a few episodes of the "Agents of SHIELD" TV show, aired on ABC. ... more   less
