From the moment I emailed about booking until we walked out the door, Luu and Nam-Hau were helpful, gracious, and generous.
We had the first floor room, which has a private entry through the back and a private bathroom (though the bathroom is a few feet down the hall from the room -- no walking in your towel!). The bathroom is GORGEOUS, just like the rest of the house. The room was simple and offered a lot of closet space. We had the cot in there so it might not have felt as spacious as it really is, but the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.
Guests really are in the couple's home, which meant they had a few kind requests (no food in the rooms, no shoes inside). Respecting them and their wishes wasn't difficult by any means, though, and it didn't feel like we were being hovered over -- the only time I felt uncomfortable was when I had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night (and that was because I feared I might wake someone!).
Breakfast was simple but wonderful. It changed daily but always involved bread, fruit, and amazing small press coffee or tea. Luu and Nam-Hau would sit with us while we ate each morning and give us suggestions. The house is a few minutes away from the main streets of Culver City (lots of food, some shopping, and the really bizarre Museum of Jurassic Technology). If you come with a car, street parking is blissfully easy, and most of LA is a quick drive away.
A wonderful, peaceful place to stay -- I would love to go back to LA just to stay again!
