We needed a break from busy bee life. Looking for a quaint room. We loved our room, a comfortable bed and beautifully decorated. The welcome was warm and tips to make our stay comfortable. Favorite part was the balcony overlooking the lake and watching the pine tree sway. A perfect quick get way from Canyon Hills to Crestline ! We will be back.

Room Tip: Love Number 5

We stayed here with the family and simply had a ball. It was so close to the water that we were able to return to our hotel to use the restroom versus using public facilities. I have not one bad thing to say about this place. The beds are unlike any I have slept on around this state (we travel a lot) and the cleanliness was great. Staff was warm and grateful we booked there which was something I am not used to seeing. Just altogether awesome.

We were delighted with Nancy and Terry as innkeepers. They did everything in their power to make our stay be everything we could have hoped for. The rooms were comfortable and the view from the deck delightful! The refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms were a real plus as well. With Lake Gregory and restaurants nearby and a peaceful location....what more could you ask for!

Room Tip: Room 8 has a terrific view of the lake!

I have been a frequent visitor to Lake Gregory and Lake Arrowhead for the past 35 years. I have rented cabins, hotel rooms and even stayed at the Lake Arrowhead Resort, and quite frankly, the BEST accommodations are those offered at the North Shore Inn. The rooms are exquisitely decorated, each with its own unique flair. I treated myself to a birthday weekend earlier this month (July, 2013) so that I could kayak at Lake Gregory which is conveniently located within walking distance. When I walked into my room, my immediate thought was "Yes, this is beautiful, I love it!" I have stayed at North Shore Inn over the years and have never been disappointed....and I am confused as to how one reviewer compared North Shore Inn to the Lake Arrowhead Resort??? It's like comparing apples to oranges...an Inn is an Inn, and a Resort is a Resort. I have stayed at Lake Arrowhead Resort and if you need a hotel lobby and access to spa services, at $230 a night which is the cheapest room at the resort, then that is where you should stay. It's pricey for what you get, and North Shore Inn's rooms are much more beautifuly decorated. My room had a fireplace, flat screen tv. , etc... all for $135 per night. The North Shore Inn has a room to fit everyone's budget! Just take the virtual tour on their website to view the room which would best fit your needs. Try it - you won't be disappointed! :)

Room Tip: Take a virtual tour on their website to select the room that best fits your needs.

We recently spent a weekend in Crestline and were lucky to have reservations at The North Shore Inn. We had a wonderful time -- very comfortable accommodations with lots of sweet touches that made our stay exceptional. The Inn is right across from Lake Gregory, so balconies have lake views and birdsong. Owners Nancy and Terry are very friendly and helpful, and can advise on local eateries and attractions. We are looking forward to our next stay with them. Highly recommended!!

Room Tip: Rooms 5, 6, 7, and 8 are on the parking level, so you will not have to climb (rather steep) stairway...

Everyone in SoCal knows about Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear... and the ridiculous crowds that come with them. If you truly want a quiet and relaxing mountain getaway then you need to go to Lake Gregory. And if you do, North Shore is the perfect option. The chateau sits directly across the street from the lake with decent views through the trees. Owner was very friendly. There is some traffic noise but it never bothered us. Rooms are quaint, comfortable, and ours was clean and had all we needed. We stayed in room 10 on the 3rd floor with a great balcony! (Though not great if you have trouble with stairs). We found it the perfect place to unwind. The mexican restaurant next door was very tasty! Unfortunately, there aren't many good food options in Crestline... and it's a tough area to navigate.

*FYI, it looks like they have updated room 10 since we stayed there. The new photos look great! Nice to see they put their money back into the hotel to make it even better for the guests.

Lake Gregory is awesome as well. There is a walking path through the trees all the way around the lake. They also have a great park to swim in, lots of fishing spots, and another park with baseball and a playground. It's a great spot to getaway any time of the year. We were there in the Spring and it was gorgeous. Great spot for couples and families. Took my wife here to escape the LA rat race and loved every minute! We will be back!

Room Tip: Room 10 on third floor was gorgeous. Had a great Balcony, decent view of the lake, and faces West so...

My husband and I were on a one night work-cation. We had an appointment in Crestline and decided to spend the night in cool fresh pine-scented air. We always seek out charming accomodations with a little personality. The North Shore Inn fit the bill. This "Swiss Chalet" Inn is situated arcross the street from Lake Gregory and walkable to everything. Our room (#5) was romantic with a stone fireplace and a lovely balcony. Nancy the owner, is very proud of her Inn and it shows. Nancy, next time we are up that way we will be coming back.
