While this is perhaps the best hotel in Rayong we found it is a bit old and lacks refreshing feel of the seaside resort. Service from Marriott is still top notched though and staff are friendly. Room is spacious with good ocean view.

My room was an ocean-facing room, and that was the first thing we saw when we first entered our room, the vast blue ocean. The view was breathtaking! The best part was that the Hotel is right next to the beach, so I went down to the beach at least three times a day, enjoying my feet in the cold saltwater. The pool of the hotel is also fantastic, with two water slides and a direct view of the open beach.
It was such a great way to recharge from everyday skyscrapers-life.
Oh! and for those who might not be overly fond of the bright and very hot sun, the end of the monsoon season will give you more shade, less heat and light cool wind throughout the day.

Room tip: What is the point of going to the beach if you don't have an ocean-facing view from your room.

So my review is about the beautiful Marriot Hotel in Rayong. I booked that hotel because I got a good price for it. And i thought: why not.
Many reviews said only the area is boring.
But I have to say something about the staff.
I was alone on my vacation, but in this hotel you are never alone if you don’t want.
My first contact with the staff was at the fish bar of the hotel. There was a very nice guy, his name is Akash. I asked him a lot of questions about the hotel, area and so on and he answered everything very well, and he was also a very funny guy.

The next contact with the staff was at the Lounge Bar in the 2nd Floor of the hotel. I was there everyday. Sometimes only for some nice tea or to drink some beers. And of Course i wasn’t alone. The Lounge bar staff with Jeejie, First, Mai, Prawn and Tiem was a perfect group.
These guys were always very funny and answered me a lot of questions too. The conversations were always nice and we laughed very much. They helped me in many ways and I’m very thankful for it.

So this my short but true review of the hotel.
These People made my first time in Thailand perfect and I want to say thank you with that words.
You guys are awesome.

We finished up our 2018 Van PImpenstein Asian Tour in Rayong. Weather was still a bit overcast but the show went well and the food was amazing. We had the most amazing view I have ever had in a hotel room. The breakfast was great. The hotel grounds were immaculate. We also really enjoyed the swimming pools. Both pools were great, both going right up to the beach for a spectacular view. The larger pool is the largest pool I have ever been in. The staff was so nice and polite I thought for a second they must be from Kentucky. So nice! I highly recommend this place :)

Room tip: We were upgraded to a suite with a great view of the ocean.

Don't recommend this hotel. My family and I have had stayed at this hotel in July this year. Everything else are oaky except "OMG" don't eat at the restaurant. "BAD SERVICE" they way they service customers are really strange " they service one table at at time". We had a reservation at 7pm and arrived on time and we were able to place an order immediately. While waiting for our food we saw most waiters are going in and out of that one table and they are just about to leave. We waited for 40 minutes and finally we asked a waiter why is it taking so long to have our food. The anwer was they are tied up with that one table, so we started to complaint. Food finally arrived 5 minutes later but no appterizer (LOL). If we didn't complain to a waiter, we may have to wait even longer. The resturant was not busy and there were only 4 tables with customers. We travel to Thailand twice a year and for sure will "never" return to this resort. Maybe the hotel food and beverages director/manager dont have the basic concept of food and beverages to train the hotel staff correctly.
