Have been a regular visitor there for a while now. Wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in southern Cebu island. Friendly, attentive staff, great rooms, good wholesome food and a large variety of drinks at very reasonable prices, lovely pool and bar, excellent views of the Tanon Strait to Negros Oriental. With a brand new, professionally run dive-shop just opened up at the resort, I can thoroughly recommend Eden. 'Fun in the sun', that won't cost you an arm, a leg or your first born either, brilliant!

Took the 5am flight from Manila then took Ceres bus to Eden.. Bus ride took 4 hours for P175 only. Good bus ride..comfy seats, aircon &tv made the long travel ride bearable. Btw...the roads were good!

We were brought just outside the gate of the resort. the garden was a beautiful welcome. Everything in the resort was just right. The room was perfect. Good sized room, clean toilet, good smelling linens and my favorite of all is the balcony facing the sea.

My only suggestion into have more seafoods in the menu since the island is famous for it...especially for breakfast. They only offer the usual corned beef, ham and eggs for breakfast. How about adding fish to breakfast please?

Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Took Kawasan falls trip. Hmmm..it was ok. P10 but the turn off there is...I don't know why it was allowed to have a structure right beside the falls...it cheapened the place. Mind you even if you eat there, you will be charged p300 for the table. P10 for the toilet use ( even if you're a customer) and p100 for parking. One actually doesn't need a guide going to the falls. The local govt can just put signs. It's an easy walk anyway. We paid 700/ person for the use of van. It's more than an hour from the hotel

Oslob whale watching was worth the trip. P500/ room for the use of hotel van. The activity was well organized. From the payment to orientation to the banca ride....it was 500/person and additional 500 for the underwater camera.

Our trip to Oslob was even made special by the resort. We will definitely go back

Great place to stay. The staff are very helpful, particularly the manager Clyde. Our regular driver Theodore was also great. Very comfortable rooms, all of which have a fabulous view across the water to Negros. Highly recommended.

Tip: The local pronunciation of Eden is "edd-en" not "ee-din"

We ended up moving from Aarons Beach Resort to Eden... and for not very much more you get a LOT more! The service was first class, decent food, superb pool and luxurious rooms. Having stayed in some 5* hotels in the Philippines, Eden beats most of them... definitely shouldn't be rated 3*. They have a spa, dive center, restaurant, super views and large spacious rooms.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great

On a random whim we decided to book this place last minute. The second we arrived - we know we needed to extend our booking. We even canceled our other resort booking and "ate" the 1 night cancellation fee just to keep staying here.

- its really close to lilo-an port (prob a 5 min walk or 1 min trike) - so the best way to get to here from Manila would be to fly into Dumaguete. From Dumaguete - its a 15 minute trike to Sibulan Ferry Port. Then take the Sibulan ferry to Lilo-An. (which takes about 30 minutes and is very cheap as well). They run roughly every 30 minutes to an hour.

- This is also a great way to get to Bohol (go through Dumaguete) - However - have the resort call the Ferry out of Dumaguete to make sure they are still going the day you plan on leaving. (We found out the hard way they cancel the ferry if high winds)

- since its also close to the port - the bus from Cebu runs pretty close and most are pretty nice (TVs & Aircon)...but a 4-5 hour bus ride isn't exactly great - even if fairly scenic.

- Eden also provides transportation via their van to the whale sharks (1 trip at 6:30 one at 9:30 I think). Only 500 pesos per room so very worth the door to door service where you can leave your stuff in the van, etc. Its only about 20-30 minutes from the Hotel. After looking at most of the other resorts in the area - Eden is by far the nicest. No need to stay actually in Oslob.

- As others stated - no real sandy beach near by but you have the nice pool area if you want to laze by the ocean. They have a nice walkway down to the ocean and its actually great snorkeling right in front of the hotel. Bring some water shoes or something to walk out on the rocks however. Check the current as well - seemed pretty crazy at times but also might be a great snorkel!

- I thought very good prices for food and drinks. Cheap massages on site. Scuba on site. If perhaps the balconies were a bit more private and they had wifi in the room - I would still think it would be a good deal at double the price.

Room Tip: Looks like all are pretty much the same!

My husband and I stayed at the Eden Resort in July. We had such a wonderful time. The accommodation was at least 4 stars but the balcony overlooking the water and the island of Negros was so serene I would have to rate it at a 5 star experience.. Just what is needed for a real getaway. From the moment we arrived and soaked in the infinity pool overlooking the water, to the friendly happy staff led by Clyde we had an absolutely wonderful time. We were there to see the whale sharks which didn't disappoint either. We went with the resort driver to the early session (6.30). He also took us later in the day to the waterfall near Oslob - even with little water this was worth the trip. Lovely views as you go in as well. Food was ok ,again with the meals served overlooking the water, sunsets and then the lights of Negros from across the water makes for a very romantic holiday! My husband also went diving - they have a dive master on site. We flew in through Cebu City and then took airport taxi to the resort (about 4 hours) On the way back we caught the local bus, much cheaper and interesting (about 4.5 hours) From the bus station a metered taxi took us to the airport. Howeverwe found out that it would be easier to fly into Negros and ferry directly to Liloan. Save that for next trip!

Room Tip: We had a room at the end was very quiet. Only a small resort so any room is ok

If your idea of a perfect getaway was a quiet place with breathtaking scenery, then this is the place for you. The fact that there are only around 10 rooms in total here makes it perfect for serenity and quiet relaxation.

The rooms are in excellent condition. I was also impressed with the attention to detail that they provided an umbrella in each room as it would be absolutely necessary if it rained. Once you step out into the balcony you are greeted by a breathtaking sight of the shimmering clear blue waters with the waves lapping onto the beach directly 2 meters beneath your feet. The only downside here is the presence of lots of mosquitoes which would feed on you as you enjoy this scenery, but for me it was all worth it.

What's even better is the amount of service attention you will get because, quite simply, the number of service staff would often outnumber the number of guests. And the service is absolutely top notch too. The staff always wore a smile on their faces, and would go all out to accommodate your requests.

One thing to take note though, is that due to the remote location, you can hardly find any food or transport in the vicinity, so you would tend to settle your meals in the resort restaurant. Unlike the other reviews, I actually felt that the food was pretty good! The resort also provides transport at a cost if you need to travel to and from the resort. The prices, however, are pretty steep in my opinion.

When I was there with my friends we went for whale-shark watching, tumalog falls and bluewater sumilon which were all within 30mins drive from the resort. Highly recommended as they're really quite an experience.

To sum up my experience, I had a fantastic time there and I would highly recommend travellers to give it a try.

Room Tip: There are only around 10 rooms in this resort, with 2 rooms sharing one building. If you have booked...
