“Bargain if you don't mind major construction”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2008

Major renovation is going on. I had an older room--plenty of space, worn bathroom, nice Radission bedding (triple sheeting) and bath condiments with dated furniture and quirky wi-fi. Breakfast is fair--cooked to order eggs, low-grade pastries and cereal, aging bananas--but it was free with my very low rate. No doubt when the renovation is done the place will be nicer and pricer.

The renovation is being done right. The only thing that is original are the wall studs and the shower tile/fixture. Other than that it is new throughout.

Every room is a suite---and not just a "big" room. There is a small hallway between the living area and bedroom.

The property forms an open courtyard that is very nicely landscaped. A bit cold for the pool but it looked very nice.

By February 08 I would assume almost all rooms will be done as they are working on huge chunks of them (almost done from what I can tell). I saw about 50 flat panel boxes (32" Philips) sitting outside my room today.

All new bathroom floors (tile), granite counters, new carpet, new tables, easy chair and couch (Sleeper) in each room. All new and nicely appointed.

Rooms are very trendy---very dark woods and cream/tan carpet/drapes. Many floor/table lamps throughout---the fact that I mention it means I noticed.

Free WIFI----a nice touch considering a $ 250 Hyatt/Hilton room typically doesn't come with this.

Flat panel on the wall in the living area. Large, standard tube set in the bedroom. Granite wet bar in living area, with fridge.

The staff was very helpful---despite a complaint from a pain in the a$$ woman who didn't like she was near the rooms under construction. A note: just ask nicely to be moved. They didn't try to screw with you on purpose. The world is not here to serve you. I say this because I way too OFTEN read comments from people here that make me think of her. Actually I wanted to ask her if she posted on Trip Advisor.

honestly, for $ 118 a night if you have to stay in Covina (area) you'd be silly not to try this hotel.

Reserved a smoking room (God forbid) and the front desk guy said he didn't have that on the reservation. He did have one room left to switch me too, and it turned out to be one of the rooms yet to be updated. The whole place seems to be under construction. Not sure how the new rooms are, but the old ones are...old. The toilet needed to be flushed 2x to do its job, and the temperature control was broken. No internet access at all, thankfully I had an aircard. I wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel is not your regular one building cold atmosphere hotel. Instead, the lobby was very well appointed with all the warmth of holiday decorations. The lobby had its own personality like that of a Spanish mansion. The staff were all very helpful. We requested a room by the pool and they were happy to give it to us. The rooms were big with separate living room and bedroom. It even had a small dining table for 4. It had a refrigerator and a microwave plus a coffee maker. The bedroom had a select comfort bed where you can adjust the firmness of your bed. It was great, I've never slept so good before. The breakfast was just great, choice of hot and cold and even cooked to order like you are dining in a restaurant, everything was fresh. All the staff seemed helpful.
I would definitely recommend this hotel, great value for the price paid

This hotel was once a Embassy Suites and I can understand why it does not qualify for that brand name any longer. Rooms are dated and bathrooms stale. We were amazed to learn that despite the Nov date and 50 degree outside temperatures the heating system was "shut off". Not out of service shut off! And if you have never slept on a select comfort air bed please take my wife's and my opinion, you don't want to. As if this wasn't bad enough my laptop computer was stolen from the room while the maid was in the room. Yes right from under her nose and top top it all off the hotel has denied responsibility. If you plan to stay here good luck!

This property is really nice. (Yes they are doing a multi-million dollar renovations) When the renovations are done this will be even better! I had a first floor room right around the corner from the parking lot, nice location. No noise at all!! Close to breakfast and the pool.
The 10 freeway is right around the block too. The staff is nice and friendly.
The sofa bed in the living area was not too comfortable for me but my sister said she was fine. The spa by the pool was fantastic (especially after walking around every place we went) There are pool hours but no one pays that any attention. The breakfast was delicious, they even had hot chocolate!!
When I come back to the area I will definetly be staying here!!

The Radisson was a fantastic hotel. Great location, right off the 10. I know it's not the Ritz or the Four Seasons, but it was just what we were looking for! The room was spacious, clean and a great "home away from home". I highly recommend this property for anyone who wants convenience, great price, a larger than normal room, (the hotel was an Embassy Suites) and a great atrium with a pool and jacuzzi that seems to be open all hours.

They had a living room area with a sofa sleeper, t.v., kitchen table, bar, sink, coffee pot, counter, microwave & mini fridge.

In the bathroom they had a blow dryer & very soft towels, and plenty of them!

In the bedroom there were two double beds (or 1 king) with a night stand between them. They had a full-length wall mirror, armoire, a dresser armoire with a t.v. stand in it. they also had a desk. They have a mini balcony off the bedroom too, over looking the freeway. The front of the room in which you enter also has a long hallway which is outdoors, and a majority of the rooms over look an atrium area.
They have breakfast from 6:30 AM - 10:30 AM too in a nice area.
Made to order eggs (somewhat), but complimentary sausage, bacon, cereal, bagels, muffins, juice, milk, coffee... it wasn't that bad. Again, you're talking quantity, not quality.
I would say if you're in the area, give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.
