“Nice but watch your belongings in car.”

This is a very nice hotel with a great location across from South Coast Plaza. However, be careful when using the valet service as we had a cellular phone and other things stolen from our vehicle. We were disappointed with the managments response however corporate was quick to resolve our problem. It upset us to think we may have been tipping the very same valet who may have stolen from us.

My wife and I just got back from a multi-day shopping trip at South Coast Plaza, and decided to try the Westin across the street, as we'd wondered whether it was worth ponying up the extra money to stay within walking distance of the mall (we usually stay in the Anaheim resort area when visiting Southern California, with mixed results).

First off, the location is even better than we had originally thought. Not only is it a 2-minute walk across the Unity Bridge to SCP, but the hotel is also located in the same business park as South Coast Repertory and The Performing Arts Center. The lobby is gorgeous, and includes a large sunken bar area overlooking a good-sized waterfall pouring in from a sunlit glass ceiling.

We ended up with a room on the 14th floor; I was suprised by how large the room was, and although the Heavenly Bath is not necessarily as magical as it sounds (think average hotel bathroom with marble floors, a fantastic dual showerhead and shower rod, and some dark wood trim), the Heavenly Bed was just that. The duvet and sheets had a lovely weight to them, but breathed very well; in short, the best night of sleep my wife and I have had in a very long time. The rest of the room was decorated in cool, dark tones, and was clinically clean. Incidentally, the chaise lounge placed near the floor-to-ceiling windows was the most comfortable one I've ever sat in...it's difficult not to fall asleep in it!

Opposite the bed was an enormous desk/armoire combination that contained more than enough drawer space for two people, as well as a large swiveling TV, the minibar, and a magazine rack with 6 (!) Orange County-themed magazines. Included in our room were two complimentary bottles of Aqua Panna, as well as bathrobes and turndown mints. Nice touches.

Overall, it's difficult to complain about this place. I can't comment on the hotel's restaurant, as it's far less expensive to hop across the street to eat at the dozens of restaurants (and Starbucks) at South Coast Plaza. Great hotel, excellent staff, and a perfect place to stay for business, shopping, romance or any combination of those three!

Stayed for 3 nights during our America holiday, did not spend much time in the hotel, but the room was large, clean and comfortable, with the usual "heavenly beds" valet parking was reasonable $18 per day or $14 if you parked yourself. Wonderful Italian restaurant accross the road at 'South Coast Plaza'' shopping centre Mangianos one of the best meals we had on our 3 week trip, so good we went back a second time.
Hotel room has a fridge, and provides 2 bottles of water a day free, we found so many hotels did not have fridges, very strange for us, all hotel or motels in New Zealand have fridges.

We just returned from our anniversary trip to the Westin South Coast Plaza and couldn't be happier with our stay!!
We arrived and were warmly greeted by the Valet Parking Staff. While checking in, the desk clerks repeated the warm greeting and quickly & efficiently assigned us our room which included asking if they could do anything else for us.
When it was time to go out that evening, we called the Valet as we were leaving the room. When we arrived to the lobby, our car was waiting just outside the lobby doors for us.
We arrived back at the hotel from our night out and found that the "valet parking" was closed. We were directed to the front desk and when I asked the desk clerk about parking our car, she cheerfully said, "I'd be happy to park your car for you."
Our room was very clean when we entered. It was also extremely spacious and full of luxurious items which included the overstuffed chair, heavenly bed and shower, complimentary bath robe & internet access.
This hotel appears to be well taken care of and has many beautiful areas to sit and read, talk or just relax. It is also across the street from a great shopping center called South Coast Plaza and offers a convenient pedestrian bridge from the hotel grounds. It is just a short walk from the hotel to the shopping center across the bridge.
We look forward to returning to the Westin South Coast Plaza and hope we'll be able to stay longer than just one night.

Just returned from a two-night weekend stay at the Westin South Coast Plaza. From the time I pulled up to check in until I left this property, the service level was excellent in all regards.

The valet parking attendants at this hotel are by far the best I have encountered. They were fast, courteous and attentive to guests' needs (e.g., directions, etc).

I had reserved a traditional king room and was very happy to be upgraded to the top floor of the hotel with a nice view of the surrounding area. The bed, as usual with Westin hotels, was awesome.

The Heavenly Bath with the dual shower heads was a great way to start the morning.

The front desk staff was helpful and professional. No complaints at all.

Would definitely return to this hotel.

This hotel was amazing for the price we paid--a last minute steal through hotwire! We were there for four nights, and didn't want to leave the room.
There are a number of outstanding restaurants in the area, all of which are especially close to this hotel. The lobby, room decor, and pool grounds are very nicely done too. There is very little negative to report. The front desk staff could have been nicer, but no real complaints, except for the parking rates. Self parking was $14/night and Valet was $18/night. If you are staying for more than a couple of nights, it can really add up. Other than that, don't even think twice before booking a room here. You will be sure to enjoy!

Shopping the various travel web sites, I was able to get the WSCP for $75 on a weekday from hotwire - expedia and hotels had it listed for $225. Of course I wasn't 100% sure that was the property I was getting, but looking at hotwire's package deals, I had reasonable expectations. At $75 it was obviously a steal. As for the room, it was large and very nice with a view of the pool. The Heavenly beds are as good as any in the business, as are the new showers. I really liked the new decor and appreciated the in-room mini-bar. A very good breakfast int he main dining room, too. Definitely worth a repeat visit...
