Our family went to spend the weekend to celebrate our daughter's birthday. She was turning 3, and we were having a party at a restaurant near the area. When we checked in, we mentioned that it was her birthday. The staff gave her a birthday cake, and a card signed by the entire staff. WOW. So thoughtful.

It really made her day. She was really happy. The fact that they took the time to sign the card meant a lot.

The only thing I don't like about the hotel is the over $30 parking fee. :-)

Room Tip: Use the bridge to go to the mall. It's really convenient.

As always, I have to preface this by saying I got a great rate through Priceline. The downside is that they charge $20 a night for parking. Even with that extra charge, it was a good deal.

The room is pretty basic, but it was very clean and the carpet felt great under my bare feet. The beds, though definitely not queen size, were very comfortable. (I didn't bother trying to ask for a single king). The bathroom is small and basic, but it too was very clean. The shower has an awesome dual head system and the bath robe was a nice touch (would have been nice to have two).

Our room was on the 8th floor facing away from the 405 freeway. As a result, we had a relaxing view of the park below. Speaking of the 405, the hotel is in a great location for freeway access. It is across the street from a nice mall (where I probably spent a little too much money) and nearby to a variety of good dining options.

Overall, it was a comfortable stay. It's not upscale, but it has some of that upscale feel to it.

This is our second stay here in the last couple of years. It is a good all-round hotel. Great bed, and they change the sheets every day, quite a large and well-maintained room, decent service (especially on the front desk) and a nice bar area. You can get Starbucks coffee and basics downstairs. Bathrooms need remodelling, but they are clean and adequate. The public areas are very well-kept, and the gym is large and with a number of machines. It faces the pool, which is a nice change from facing a wall.

If you are having a "shopping holiday" as we were, this can't be beat. Short walk to South Coast Plaza - world's best mall - and some good restaurants. Capital Grille is a seriously good restaurant. You can also walk to theatre (South Coast Repertory), and other stores such as Bed, Bath & Beyond, Ross, TJ Maxx, Sports Authority etc. Panera Bread two blocks away. We have stayed here twice now as our last stop on US trips, in order to go shopping, and it is perfect for that. It's a $120 cab ride from LAX, but hotel staff are very helpful in helping you find cheaper alternatives.

I really like this hotel. The management is friendly, helpful and professional, and it's a clean, attractive and smoke-free facility.

Just a short walk to a beautiful mall with plenty of stores and restaurants. Self parking is somewhat inconvenient since its off to the side. Hotel staff was very helpful and service was great. There's a beautiful waterfall just outside the bar area. If not busy it's a great area to relax. I would definitely stay here again.

I'm a fan of Westin hotels in general but this one is always on point. I stayed here Feb 2011 and found the room beautiful & comfortable, and always like the toiletries in the bathroom. I was there for a conference being held in the Orange County Performing Arts Center and there is literally no more convenient hotel than this one, just a 4 min walk across a courtyard. I ate at the bar as well as in the restaurant and was impressed with both. I paid $532 for 3 nights.

This year I stayed again in Feb (2012) and was given a "junior suite" which was actually two rooms connected - one was a traditional bedroom for my roommate and I and the other connecting bedroom had been converted to a comfortable living room with 2 couches, chairs and coffee table! It was awesome to have two bathrooms for getting ready and a sitting area. It was SO reasonable! $150/night and the third night was free! So this year we only paid $300!

Highly recommend it also because it is literally across the street from one of the nicest malls in America, South Coast Plaza. One day we walked across the street for lunch at Seasons 52 at the mall and were able to make it back in plenty of time for our seminars. So, so great.

This hotel is beautiful, convenient, & everything you need!

Room Tip: Ask for the "junior suite"

This looked like a nice hotel, we planned to stay there for 2 nights to explore the area. It was clean, comfy but you had to pay for parking each night, then they wanted $12 per day for the use of the internet. The internet charge is outrageous in this day and age, I can go to McDonalds or Starbucks, and I am sure plenty of other locations for free internet. In our 21 day trip through Washington, Oregon and California, I am sorry, yes it was nice, but it had the least (included)amenities of all the places that we stayed. The bed was extremely comfortable though!

Room Tip: Ask for park side, it has less noise from the busy roads/freeway.

I had a late check-in and the night staff were nothing but helpful. I was in Irvine for KCON and was exhausted from being out all day. The desk personnel helped us find a restaurant close by and the room was nothing but exquisite. The beds were soft and even though the bathroom did seem a bit bland considering the room, I enjoyed the room! I couldn't thank the front desk enough for the help they gave us. I am planning on coming to Irvine again in November and will definitely keep The Westin on my list of options.

Room Tip: Valet parking is just a little more than self-parking and worth it.
