“Tuesday night for Crab and garlic noodles”

Love Crustaceans and this family has fine dining down with great quality and excellent happy hour specials. Food, service and atmosphere are all top notch and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience. I hop in AnQi a lot after work for a quick drink and a quick appetizer.

“A Bit of Crustacean in South Coast Plaza”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

On a recent trip to So. Cal. my wife and I hit Anqi for happy hour two days in a row. Both times we found well priced apps and drinks, and found the quality to be very high. The bar is lovely, service very good, and the selection quite fine. Go 4-7 pm for the happy hour menu.

“OC Restaurant week lunch”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

First came two rolls for as appetizers, one beef and one fish, fused with other ingredients. Found it difficult to distinguish the fused flavors in so small a sample. But the glazed salmon salad was large enough to taste and was delicious. Would love to know how they do that glaze. Thought we were having the dessert listed on the internet menu but "it had been changed". No excuse for this. I had been dreaming of that dish since I had it on the Resto Week menu two years ago! But the Elderflower Parfait with pink rose meringue and jasmine sorbet was wonderful. So nice not to have just another chocolate choice. Not much for the men to fill up on and no wonder most of the diners were slender but this is quality as opposed to quantity.

“Excellent Fusion”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

We tried Anqi during one of the Orange County Restaurant Week events where you can try featured restaurants offering a fixed menu for a fixed price. I have to say that the food and service here was excellent. Despite the restaurant being packed, they seated us on time, the food was simply amazing and the service was top notch. I love the garlic noodles... tongue tacos were amazing (i never ate tongue before) and the dessert was a lychee panna cotta which was to die for.

“Best and Most Expensive Mall Food I've Ever Had”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

The fact that the mall happens to be South Coast Plaza may help to explain the title. One of our most memorable meals was at Crustacean, so we had high expectations for AnQi and they did not disappoint. Once past the entrance, the mall effect disappears and it feels just like another restaurant inside with very tasteful decor. The Asian fusion fare was delicious. I think I could have made a meal entirely out of the garlic noodles. But we also had the filet mignon potstickers, which were delicious even without the sauce. The shaken beef and giant prawns were also excellent. The prawns were huge and the beef melted in our mouths. Even the desserts did not disappoint. They have a creme brûlée of the day which pleased my husband, as it happens to be one of his favorite desserts. I usually don't like cooked fruit, but the banana fritter (caramel and vanilla ice cream!) sounded too good to pass up and I was right. The only thing lacking was their reservation system, which is a recorded message telling one to dial an extension for Melissa (?) only to end up with a voicemail. After leaving the requested informative message for a reservation, I never got a return confirmation call. Unorganized upon arrival, but as it looked like we would get a table even without a reservation, I didn't press the issue.
