“Always and enjoyable stay”

I stay at the Ayres Costa Mesa several times a year when I visit my company HQ and the hotel never disappoints. The staff is always exceptionally friendly and the property has a warm, elegant atmosphere that you just don't find in the big chains with their, soulless, cookie cutter facilities.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the inner courtyard or pool feel more spacious.

We really enjoyed our time at your property. The staff was great and very helpful. Beautiful property. The Hotel amenities were great. We used the shuttle service to and from the airport. We were treated great from the start of our stay to the end.

Room Tip: Go for the beautiful suites.

I am a repeat visitor to the Ayers, and despite hating travel for work in general, the Ayers is always wonderful. Neat clean rooms, helpful staff, late arrivals are not a problem, shuttle service is excellent, and thier resteraunt has something for everyone.

There are two small issues on several visits the spa did not work in the main building and as a woman alone I was not walking across the parking lot to the other building in a swimsuit at night or in the day for that matter. The other thing, the drapes. They had these semi sheer drapes with darker drapes as decoration. The darker set would not close having a screw applied to the rod so that they stayed in place for decoration rather than function. I am certain that even at night with the light on no one could see in. I would have still preferred to be able to close the solid drapes if for no other reason than I would have liked to have slept in.

This last stay was my 4th in as many months. I keep getting upgrades and it keeps getting better and better each time. From a standard room to one with a jet tub, next a fireplace and great staff. The hot breakfast is an added bonus, not your usual cold cereal, rolls and coffee.

Room Tip: Everything is top notch.

Only a couple complaints. When checking in I asked for a room facing airport so we could see the planes coming and going. The gentleman who checked us in said SURE you bet no problem well....when we got to our room it had a view of the pine trees and the other tower of rooms. I didn't want to have to go down and complain so we stayed in that room for two days. The other complaint was there were a couple of black hairs in the shower and a couple more on the wall by sink. Breakfast was standard nothing special. Not many sweet things to eat. I was most disappointed in the fact that the boutique inside the lobby was gone! It was so cute. I was looking so forward to shopping there. Also I tried to ask the maid for a couple extra towels and she could not understand English so we kinda just did the sign language thing and finally got them.

A very nice surprise . Big and comfortable rooms. Convenient location. Just few miles from major attractions. Appreciated the complementary hot breakfast. Will add to my list of favorite places to stay while on trip to Southern California.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are larger.

Love this gem! Staff is very accommodating, and location is great with access to all major freeways. "Very" applies to clean, comfortable, and great staff! Not your typical today's slick-simple-sleek-contemporary-hotel" as décor is European with old world paintings, wallpaper, carpets, etc but having great rooms with fireplaces, lovely courtyard and other seating areas to read a great book, or just relax appeals most to me. We Americans like our space and this hotel gives you just that. Décor isn't from Sotheby's or Christies' but the feel is genuine and matches the attitude of the staff.

Room Tip: Prefer main building but while near airport any room I've had has been very quiet
