Was perfect, super close to airport, shuttle was awesome (get in get out). Beds were great, food was great, best of all it was reasonably priced. Airport was not across the street but still close. Had an evening flight still before 10pm and was picked up in like 10 minutes. Noise is not bad was on the airport side maybe heard 1 or 2 come across, was no big deal. Was in conference for 2 days and did not hear one plane!! Bad part about this whole thing I normally do not write reviews, but this was just so easy had to share. Must say if I have to do another 200 character minimum I will not be writing anymore reviews.

Room Tip: If your light sleeper just ask to be furthest away, even though by the airport was not very noisy at...

We were so very honored to have you as our recent guest. Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review about your experience at our hotel, it is truly appreciated. It is nice to see that you enjoyed your Ayres Dream Sleeper mattress, the complimentary full American breakfast buffet, and that you considered the hotel a good value. We are also so pleased to see that the complimentary shuttle was of great service to you. Thank you again, and we hope to see you another time in the near future.

Although the site was under some remodeling and smell of paint, we had a wonderful stay. The staff was gracious and very helpful. The restaurant was nice for breakfast and the hot tub was a great way to end the evening. I would however suggest less perfume in the cleaning supplies. If you suffer from respiratory problems the staff will accommodate your needs.

Room Tip: Always top floor. Well sound proof considering proximity to airport.

This is a clean, fresh hotel with a quaint courtyard for both the restaurant and the pool. The rooms were good size for southern California. The only drawback was frequent airline departures that tended to rock the room until well after sunset.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and service. Very nice room with jacuzzi tub, pool, etc. the iron however ruined my white shirt, even after I ran a load of water through it on steam, spray etc. to clean it. Breakfast was basic but hot and good. Another disappointment was the shuttle. Supposed to be free with 5? Miles but when I called an hour ahead of time to get a ride to UC Irvine they said they couldn't get to me for 45 minutes. It's only 2 miles to campus and they needed more than an hour lead time after 8 AM? Why have a shuttle then? Still I will probably stay there again.

Dear Jim N.,

It was a great pleasure to have you as our guest recently. Our sincerest apologies that the shuttle service was not able to accommodate you right away. Scheduling arrangements must be made much in advanced to guarantee a specific time since it is a widely used service. Also, we are so very sorry your shirt was ruined by the iron. We will have to look into the appliance to ensure this does not happen to any future guests. We thank you for your review to let others know about your experience and hope to see you again in the near future.

Sincerely,
Susan O'Brien Moore

I stayed at Ayres Costa Mesa for my class at National University. From the time you stepped in, efficient and hospitable check, nice European style room, free wifi, free morning breakfast, homemade cookies, Jacuzzi and pool, fitness room, laundry room.
It has the right amount of everything! The breakfast is just right, oatmeal, scrambled egg, cereal, fruit mixes, pancakes, toast... The other amenity that is really convenient is the shuttle. They take to anywhere within 5 miles (well the church that I went during my stay there is 5.2 mile aways, so they still kindly take me). They do pick up too! Very convenient if you did not feel like renting a car. The staff are excellent, very helpful and accommodating. I love the lobby in the Suite building and the courtyard restaurant, which also has high rating on Trip Advisor.
The hotel is in the smack of various small commercial strip, with 7Eleven, salon, etc next door!

This is my first stay at any Ayres hotel, but I will bring my family to this hotel when we go to SoCal next year!

Room Tip: Suite building is the best!

I went to a conference and needed somewhere to stay close by the John Wayne Airport. The Ayres Hotel was available and extremely reasonable and so I braced myself for a sub-par experience. I was so wrong! The room was nicely styled, the entire hotel has a New Orleans 'style', that is not cheesy at all. There are two open courtyards at the heart of the hotel, one with a fountain and tables by the restaurant/bar and the other surrounding a beautiful lap swimmable pool and hot tub.
The bed was comfortable and the pillows were soft-not the rubber bumpers I dread.
The complimentary continental breakfast was over the top! Actual eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit, hot and cold cereal in the actual restaurant. The shuttle was a great feature and they even took me to a dance class one night for no charge! The service was excellent. Overall a remarkable stay for the price, I would have been thrilled at twice the price.

We came here on a retreat. The breakfast was wonderful, I have an allergy and they were able to accommodate me at breakfast. Our dinner for the group was not very good at all. Chicken dinner was not fit for consumption, need to revisit their menu. The accommodations were fantastic! There were also many choices for meals in the area. The hotel was very helpful and friendly, I would recommend this place.
