Description: A brick & mortar neighborhood institution, MooTime Creamery has been serving up America's favorite dessert to locals and tourists alike for the last 15 years. From Double Dark Chocolate to Stracciatella, the locally owned, '50s style shop provides Coronado with premium handcrafted ice cream, sorbet, yogurt and hand-rolled waffle cones all made fresh daily with the highest quality ingredients. MooTime first opened on Orange Avenue in 1998. Churning out ice cream in a fun, nostalgic atmosphere, the local favorite has seen such stars as Magic Johnson, Jason Alexander, Mandy Moore and Cuba Gooding Jr. come through its doors to enjoy a MooTime treat. MooTime serves a variety of old-fashioned delights from floats and sodas to sundaes and splits. Catering is also available, with a list of options including ice cream bars, float bars and hot fudge bars, taking all of the fun and flavor offsite.

Cute but small ice cream shop - reminded us a little of a ColdStone. We had a chocolate malt (one of the best I've ever had), a strawberry shake and a root beer float...all delicious. Not a lot of seating available, just a few tables out front on the sidewalk and a small bar inside. It wasn't busy when we got there, but the line was out the door when we left so I'm not sure if we'd have waited had we seen that line.

First, the smell of the waffle cones as you walk by just draw you in:) We had the blackberry/chocolate chunk ice cream, it was delicious. The ice cream nachos looked amazing but we were too full from dinner to try them - next time!

This ice cream is the real deal. Fresh, excellent choice of mix ins, friendly staff, great location. There is also one at the hotel Del Coronado. Just make sure you get the kid cup. It is expensive and very rich!!!

It is kind of hard to mess up ice cream but nonetheless, Moo Time WAS very, very good. It is expensive (nearly $7 for two scoops) but the quality of the ice cream was outstanding. Similar to a Haagen Daz or Cold Stone Creamery, you pay a bit more but you also expect really good ice cream in exchange. Moo Time delivers.

We were really looking forward to an ice-cold treat from Moo Time Creamery. We were anticipating out-of-this-world ice-cream delights, judging from the line out the door. This shop has the same concept as Stone Cold where you pick a flavor then add stuff to it and they mix it up for you.

Alas, we were disappointed. We ordered one of the specialties off the menu - it was a cookies and ice-cream dessert. The cookie was definitely not fresh-baked as described on the menu and the ice-cream had a very artificial flavoring taste to it and it was very sweet. My husband and other son shared another specialty and thought it was okay but they had better.

There aren't any tables inside (a few stools) so we had to eat outside. The tables were filthy and sticky.

Kind of pricey for mediocre ice-cream. I would go to Baskin-Robbins instead.
