“Fantastic view, fantastic food.”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

Il Fornaio offers fantastic views of the San Diego downtown skyline across the bay. With huge ceilings, every table enjoys a great view. This is not a typical Italian restaurant with the same old preparations. I enjoyed lamb chops with a mint-herb seasoning. It was a nice change from the same old garlic rub that everyone else seems to use. Paired with a great wine from their extensive wine list, fantastic service,a great view, prompt seating, and topped off with a great creme brulee-chocolate mousse, I can't wait to return!

“Amazing food, great views if San Diego Harbor”

Italian food to die for - the ravioli was awesome and so was the dessert. All of the pasta is made in house and the cheese fresh and delicious. Highly recommended for the food, service and the view at sunset

“Excellent place to enjoy a meal...”
Reviewed July 19, 2014 via mobile

Went with another family. They were able to accommodate us right away as it was a Monday night. Our waiter, Carlos, was outstanding. He dealt with all the kids in a friendly manner...even taking time to call them by their names he had heard us using. Large portions for kids and good variety. Same for adults. Great food & atmosphere for a small or large group
