“Super restaurant GO”
Reviewed March 8, 2014 via mobile

Everything about the restaurant was tops. The service was wonderful. The views of San Diego was breath taking. There was an elegance about the restaurant. The waiters wore white jackets and the service was perfect We had a waiter who came from Venice. He was personable and competent and it added to our great experience. The food was excellent, very hot and well prepared. We definitely would return and highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

“Delightful treat”
Reviewed March 4, 2014 via mobile

Indulge in your favorite pasta, sip a glass of great wine and enjoy a tasty desert. Sound good? This is the place you need to enjoy. Gluten free a challenge? Not here. GF menu and entree carefully marked. Service could be tad better but overall, it will be back!

“Foodie Heaven'”
Reviewed February 25, 2014 via mobile

As a traveling chef and caterer, one is often and easily disappointed. Il Fornaio was simply amazing!! Sunday noon, top notch service and food over the top! Best Lemondrop ever followed by hot food served at just the right time! Franco our waiter was charming and attentive and the lasagna almost made me cry it was absolutely sumptuous!! We share the chocolate cake which was equally delicious!! Congratulations!! I'll be a new regular!! Thank you for making an ordinary sunday extraordinary!!!

“A chain restaurant that is exceptional”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

I am not a fan of chains. But Il Fornaio in Coronado CA is an exception, even among restaurants that are not chains. The Italian food and ambiance are authentic and gorgeous . We chose to dine on their outdoor patio overlooking the bay and the San Diego downtown skyline. Awesome!
We were particularly impressed to hear discernible music. By that I mean recognizable tunes from the '20s through the '60s. Think Cole Porter, Frank Sinatra, Eydie Gorme and Steve Lawrence, Lena Horne, and many others. The building is nicely styled and appropriate for special occasions.
We will continue to visit this exceptional restaurant when we are in the San Diego area. It is easy to have a reasonably priced meal. I ordered an appetizer which was rich enough for a meal. Also many dishes have two prices based on size.

“Wonderful food , best view”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

I have eaten here many times. Very authentic fresh Italian food. The GM Luca is very personable.

The pastas are really good. Loads of variety. I love the chicken salad they were at lunch. The view is really fun. You see the great variety of ships that go by, and people walk their dogs here also. Great people watching.
