The hotel was very nice. Great location Good breakfast every morning and staff was very helpful. Loved our stay there! It's location is right across from the Del Coronado and the beach. We bicycled and walked the island right from the hotel. There are many fine restaurants and shops within walking distance.

We stayed two nights in late September in one of the contemporary rooms with a bayview. The room was quite spacious and nicely laid out and had a nice little terrace. The common areas in the mansion (library, lobby & veranda) were gorgeous. We ate at the Coronado Boat House and it was so-so. The Brigantine had better seafood and a better value. Its a quick drive to Balboa Park and its museums and gardens.

I have travelled all over the world and stayed in innumerable hotels.
The service here was second to none.
Period.
The lobby is beautiful.
The rooms and beds are comfortable.
Coronado is like a small midwestern town that was plopped on the beach.

Stayed here for 3 nights a few weeks ago. Excellent service at the front desk. Nice location with an easy walk to shops and restaurants. And just across the street is the Del and the beach. Good continental breakfast included in the price. We never really saw San Diego since it was so nice to just stay on the island. We would definitely stay here again if we're back in the area.

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a trip to San Diego and Coronado. We stayed here for several reasons. It had a free continental breakfast which helped us start our day. There was free Wi-Fi which helped us plan our day. We had a wonderful room overlooking the bay and we were practically across the street from the beach and the Hotel del Coronado. The staff was great and everything was so laid back, we didn't want to leave. Wonderful experience and we can't wait to go back.

We were staying in the San Diego area for four nights so we decided to stay a bit economically in the Little Italy area for three nights and then splurge an the last night on Coronado. We chose Glorietta Bay Inn because it was so close to the beach and the Del Coronado which we were anxious to check out.

The Crown Room in the mansion was very nice, well decorated and clean. However the view out of the two windows was just wretched. Really the worst I have ever seen anywhere at any price, and certainly unexpected in a room in the well over $200/night range.

Still, we enjoyed out stay here, taking advantage of the pool area rather than the beach, which we found to be covered in large quantities of seaweed and quite smelly. We also found the included breakfast to be quite nice and fresh, served in a pleasant and comfortable area.

The nearby shops and restaurants were great for strolling around window shopping, and convenient when it was time to eat.

The taxi to the airport was $25 and worked quite efficiently for us.

Room Tip: We never saw what rooms in the motel area were like, but we really enjoyed being in the old mansion.

Just what we were hoping for! If you are interested in some rest and relaxation, be pampered at the Glorietta Bay Inn. We stayed in the Garden Suite with a private entrance and patio. Breakfast brought to us each morning...cookies and milk every evening. The most comfortable place I have ever stayed!

Room Tip: I recommend a mansion room.
