My husband and I just spent five days at the Glorietta Bay Inn. We stayed in a room inside the mansion and loved everything about this hotel. The management and staff gave attention to each and every detail. Breakfast was wonderful and is included with the room. Each night we had cookies, chocolates and milk delivered to our room! Fabulous location- we will be back!!!

We just loved this place. We went the weekend of July 4th, so we could watch the fireworks. We wanted to go somewhere wehere they had a good firework show and we got it. The show was directly across from our hotel, we literally sat at the pool to watch the show and what a show it was. The beach was directly across the street, you literally were no more than five minutes away. The staff was over the top with thier customer service. You got a free continental breakfast everyday. You can't beat this place with all that you get. We are definately going to be staying here again. Happy Traveling!!

I stayed in the Spreckles suite RM 103. It was a spacious room. I was not crazy about the antique decor of the place. If you like that kind of thing then this is for you. House keeping was average, I had two bobby pins on the floor in front of my refrigerator when I checked in and they were still there when I checked out. Breakfast was OK if you like that continental carb feast kind of stuff. I want out to get an egg white and veggie omelet each morning. I was a little taken back that the balcony overlooked the pool area where kids were playing and yelling. The business center was nice and had a computer for guest use. I love that because most people carry lap tops or smart phones which leaves the PC free most of the time. The doors do not have closers so people are slaming them early in the morning so you'll be up early.

A wonderful place to stay. Increbily clean and helpful. Conveniently located across from the Del. The service providers could not be more helpful and accomodating. Highly recommended for a stay of any length. I will definitely be back! They do charge for parking. $10/day, which although reasonable, is unfortunate in that it is quite an expensive place to stay....

Room Tip: They have 'snug rooms

We love to stay here! The inn is in a central location. There are some great shops just down the street. There are many restaurants within walking distance. The bike rental place is one block away. The cut through to the beach is just across the street. We continue to return year after year. Awesome customer service, great housekeeping service. We have stayed indifferent rooms and all have been clean and well maintained. The last time we stayed there we were close to the pool. I was initially worried about possible noise after hours but the pool hours are enforced.

My family has made an annual pilgrimage to vacation in Coronado for the weekend for the past several years now. We have stayed at the Glorietta Bay Inn every time, and each time it has been a fantastic experience. Directly across the street from the famous Hotel Del Coronado, the Glorietta Bay Inn is actually affordable (unlike the Del) and has just as much history (if not more? it used to be the home of Mr. Spreckels!) as the Del itself. Plus, the Del is within easy walking distance, so you can still pop over there to enjoy their shopping and restaurants and get beach access without having to pay the $25 daily "resort fee" to stay there. :)

We've never stayed in any of the famous/special mansion rooms, but the more newly-added hotel rooms have been great for us so far. Each room has its own fridge and microwave, and even when we added a roll-away bed into a room to squeeze 5 of us into it once, it didn't feel crowded -- we still had plenty of space for all of us.

Wireless internet is free -- just ask for the password at the front desk.

There is a free continental breakfast every day as well, which consists of fresh fruit, cereal, bagels/toast (and a toaster oven thingy), yogurt, pastries, juice, tea, coffee, etc. It's basic but delicious, and nicely presented. Then you can eat your breakfast at tables set up in the library/drawing room or out on the patio overlooking the bay. It's quite a pleasant atmosphere.

There are also free cookies and lemonade set out in the afternoons (as well as free tea and coffee throughout the day).

The Glorietta Bay Inn is right downtown, so you're within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, 2 playhouses, the beach, the Del, the strand (should you want to go for a nice bike ride), a golf course, etc. It's a great location and you definitely get your money's worth here, especially compared to the Del right across the street. :)

We've always had wonderfully friendly service from the front desk as well, who have been kind enough to bring us roll-away beds, ask about our stay, and let us have late check-out on the day of our departure. I highly recommend staying here!
