“Great View of Downtown San Diego”
Reviewed July 21, 2008

The food was good, but I won't say it was memorable. The view and service, however were great. Our server was very attentive and the view of downtown San Diego was beautiful. The interior decore is lovely as well.

“Definately worth the cab fare”
Reviewed July 1, 2008

My husband and I recently attended a week-long seminar at Paradise Point, flying in to San Diego without our own transportation. We had our last evening to ourselves, and tired of the resort food, we asked the concierge for a recommendation. He made reservations for the two of us at Peohe's. When the cab arrived, all we had was an address, and the driver had a difficult time finding the restaurant once we got to Coronado. The cab fare was steep, and we were hoping this choice would not disappoint us.

We LOVED this place. We checked in at the desk and were told our table would be ready very soon. We asked for a window table overlooking the bay, but were told it might be awhile since many people sit there long after they finish eating. About 5 minutes later, we were seated at a VIP table right next to the window. The view was awesome. Our waiter was great, welcomed us, we felt very pampered and special all evening.

A plus for me was his knowledge of the wine list- I prefer a very oaky, buttery Chardonnay. The bottle we bought was wonderful.
He explained that the concierge at the resort was buying our dessert. My husband ordered the banana halibut, and I enjoyed the Mahi Mahi Maui Style. It was as good as any seafood we had eaten on the islands in Hawaii. The lobster bisque was full of chunks of lobster, and he ordered a Thai soup. The lava dessert (chocolate) was ok, probably wouldn't order it ($9 or so) but it was complimentary. We were too full to really enjoy it.

The service never lacked all evening. Our waiter had time to visit with us, and we got to know him on a personal basis. He handled his station with professional care. We closed the place (Sunday evening), yet he never pushed us out the door.

We were so glad this place was recommended. It definately was worth the high cab fares we paid. We paid for the view and the great service, and happy to do it. It's too bad the restaurant doesn't have more signage once you get into the immediate area. We just decided to walk around until we saw the place. If in San Diego again, you'll see us back!
