Description: In 2007, we opened our second location, Village Pizzeria Bayside, fittingly located steps from the bay at Coronado's Ferry Landing. Our Bayside location offers the same great menu as The Original with an unbeatable bay front view of Downtown San Diego. Pizzas, calzones, pasta dishes and hoagie sandwiches are made-to-order with authentic ingredients. And our spacious covered patio is perfect for large parties and events.

Despite reading a few bad reviews we went to check it out the one by the ferry landing (since there are two locations), we sat on the glass enclosed patio right in front of the water with a few pitchers of beer and had excellent pizza (margarita and mushroom) I don't think I would get a pepperoni here, it doesn't suit the style of crust. We had 2 waitresses who were both awesome and friendly, they really took care of us. We had the mud pie and also the brownie dessert, OMG! They were big, the brownie one fed several of us and the brownie was very moist. We saw the 15 second fireworks fail on the bay but we were still glad we went. There were a lot of heaters too.

We had Village Pizzeria delivery to our Hotel del room on a lazy Monday evening, sat on the balcony and relaxed with the childrenv while we took in the ocean view . The delivery was prompt and the pizza was fresh and hot. I am always skeptical of trying new pizza delivery services and food when I am out of town, but we were very happy with the overall value and quality of the pizza. Try the delivery on a slow tired evening.

This is a very nice location. Almost all outdoor seating on the patio with heaters. The salads are good. The pizzas and calzones are just alright. The crust is very forgetable. For a pizza place, I'm disappointed they don't do pizza well.

The smaller restaurant, near "downtown," (near the Hotel Del) has more atmosphere but the larger restaurant at the Ferry Landing has the same great pizza! (The 38" looks like it could feed half the Sixth Fleet!)

Though it was a little pricey, the servings were huge (get the family Greek salad for four -- there is PLENTY) and the pizza was delicious. Good beer, excellent seating on the patio, friendly service.
