“True Italian”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

Our group of four ate dinner here last night, it just looked nice from the street so we made a reservation. We were so pleased with the food, the service, and atmosphere.
The guys ordered spaghetti and meatballs, and the ladies, chicken Marsala. Both were excellent. Meatballs were flavorful and the pasta was not at all overdone, more al dente.
Marsala sauce was very tasty.
It was a beautiful late summer night so we sat outside on the terrace and the atmosphere was so nice. Also had the Sangiovese wine which was very good. Service was very good, too.
We will finitely return on our next visit.

“Local Secret - Happy Hour at Vigilucci's”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

We are fans of the Vigilucci’s location in Coronado Village. It’s upscale Italian at upscale prices, but you get what you pay for. However, our favorite is their happy hour in the bar, with $5 wine and reasonably-priced appetizers including calamari, crab cakes, meat balls and small dishes of pasta with marinara or Bolognese sauce. You know you’re in the right happy hour venue when many of your co-diners are Coronado locals. Thumbs up to Vigilucci’s.

“Great place for happy hour”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

We stopped by for happy hour drinks -- they have great happy hour options. I sipped on a couple of glasses of wine while my wife had a margarita with a twist -- spicy (infused with habanera).

“Top Notch all around”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

stumbled upon this location after a long stroll on the beach. The host our front was very fun and inviting so i headed to the patio for a late afternoon cocktail. the server was a blast, very quick and attentive, Always had a great suggestion on a drink depending on the swaying mood of the group. we had a few apps that were well prepared. it was a great time, between the drinks, food and staff. one of my most enjoyable times out so far....

“Lovely atmosphere, beware, pre-cooked pasta!”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

Here's my criticism. Authentic, upscale Italian restaurants do not pre-cook their pasta. Period. If you're charging $20-35 for a plate of pasta, you should be able to take the 8 minutes to cook it fresh. I had them cook gluten-free pasta which was not pre-cooked. Aside from that Vigilucci's is a great place. My husband had their chicken parmigiana which came with a side of pasta and a beautiful medly of fresh vegetables rolled with eggplant. The servers are extremely attentive and willing to please. The atmosphere is romantic and beautiful. I would recommend it, but again if you're a stickler about pasta, which is a large portion of the menu, you may want to request that they cook it fresh or order a meat or seafood dish.
