Description: Established in 2002, Coronado's locally owned and family operated Village Pizzeria offers an authentic slice of New York City in the heart of beautiful Coronado, California. Using only the freshest ingredients, Village Pizzeria prides itself on going to great lengths to preserve the integrity of the iconic New York style pie, down to importing authentic New York water to replicate the perfect thin crust dough. Located just a block away from the Pacific Ocean, the restaurant's original Orange Avenue location provides cozy interior dining and ample outdoor seating, allowing guests to enjoy the coastal vibe of the area. Village Pizzeria's second location opened in 2007, just steps away from the bay, boasting a spacious event-ready patio perfect for any family gathering. With nearly 20 pizzas to choose from, Village Pizzeria also delivers a healthy, tailor-made spin on old-school New York pizzeria offerings. Touting four different crust options for each pizza-original NY-style crust, thin crust, Sicilian style, and gluten free-as well as a variety of specialty pizzas such as "The Billy Goat" a white pie with fresh spinach, roasted red peppers, onions, sun dried tomatoes, basil, balsamic vinaigrette and goat cheese, as well as "The Islander" with Canadian bacon, pineapple, onions and bell peppers. In addition, the restaurant's menu features a variety of made-to-order salads, pastas, calzones, hoagies and desserts.

“yummy pizza”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

Went with family to both locations because the pizza was so great! We had asked them why it was extremely good, and they told us they import water from New York and cook it with their water.
Also try their garlic fries!

“Gluten Free Pizza in Coronado”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Not quite as good as their regular crust, but Village Pizza deserves kudos for offering a gluten free alternative.

“Eat outside!”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

The menu is wide, the pizza and other dishes terrific and the service good! Sit on the sidewalk and watch the walkers and tourist go by! I really thought the pizza was good!

“Great staff, good food, good atmosphere, convenient location.”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

The portabella mushroom fries are really good, the pear salad was good, and the pizza was good. The usual little round peppers are in a shaker bottle, but all ground up... added to the flavor so much more. We were too full to have some of the delicious looking desserts. We would definitely eat here again... even the water was good. Great place. Not cheap, but it was worth it for the quality of food, staff, and atmosphere.

“Phenomenal pizza!”
Reviewed October 4, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I went to this joint after a day exploring Coronado island, the pizza was great!! The crust was out of this world and the toppings were fresh. Our hotel gave us a bogo coupon so we were able to save some cash as each personal pie was about $16.00. Small restaurant and friendly people with fantastic food!! Visit this place for sure!!
