Description: Established in 2002, Coronado's locally owned and family operated Village Pizzeria offers an authentic slice of New York City in the heart of beautiful Coronado, California. Using only the freshest ingredients, Village Pizzeria prides itself on going to great lengths to preserve the integrity of the iconic New York style pie, down to importing authentic New York water to replicate the perfect thin crust dough. Located just a block away from the Pacific Ocean, the restaurant's original Orange Avenue location provides cozy interior dining and ample outdoor seating, allowing guests to enjoy the coastal vibe of the area. Village Pizzeria's second location opened in 2007, just steps away from the bay, boasting a spacious event-ready patio perfect for any family gathering. With nearly 20 pizzas to choose from, Village Pizzeria also delivers a healthy, tailor-made spin on old-school New York pizzeria offerings. Touting four different crust options for each pizza-original NY-style crust, thin crust, Sicilian style, and gluten free-as well as a variety of specialty pizzas such as "The Billy Goat" a white pie with fresh spinach, roasted red peppers, onions, sun dried tomatoes, basil, balsamic vinaigrette and goat cheese, as well as "The Islander" with Canadian bacon, pineapple, onions and bell peppers. In addition, the restaurant's menu features a variety of made-to-order salads, pastas, calzones, hoagies and desserts.

“People-watching pizza”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

If you sit outside (no alcohol outside), you can enjoy excellent pizza and watch the people go by. You are a block off Coronado beach so you get a variety.

“Great pizza on the island”
Reviewed June 17, 2012 via mobile

We stopped based on reviews and the carry out we had on our last trip to Coronado. The food was great. We had a medium thin crust which was plenty for 3. They made a kids pesto and cheese for our daughter. Service was good although a bit disorganized. Great value especially considering its on the island and close to the Del.

“Pizza and an Earthquake!”
Reviewed June 14, 2012

The first time my wife and I ate at this great semi-casual restaurant while we were waiting for our excellent pizza, we experienced the small waves from the Imperial Valley quake along the CA/Mexico border! It certainly added ambiance! The food was indeed very good, and the service was youthful yet very respectful. I have since been back to the Village Pizzeria on professional photographic trips to Coronado, and always visit this very fine eatery. Every dish I have tried has been really five star, and generous in portions. Great location near the beach!

“Good pizza Reasonably priced”
Reviewed June 14, 2012

We ate at the location near the Hotel Del and not the one by the ferry landing.
We had 2 small pizzas & shared a salad. Pizzas were not the best we have ever had but still very good as was the salad. It's a reasonable option compared to some of the more pricey places for dinner in Coronado.
The place is small and the bathroom located around the back of the building was unusual to say the least.
The service was good

“Yummy!”
Reviewed May 19, 2012

We stay a the Del every year, and this restaurant is a must. GREAT pizza and wedge salad! Though it is a tiny place with average service, it is worth it.
