I really enjoy good BBQ, (smoking meat is an art form) and Backwoods doesn't disappoint. Went for dinner with the family trying a number of items off the menu.
The "pig candy" is wonderful... yep, maple glazed bacon! The appetizer has great flavor and plenty for a family of four.
The brisket is fall apart tender with a perfect compliment of sauce. The pulled pork had a 1/4" smoke ring and perfect flavor. I like that there was just a bit of sauce so you could try the Memphis style and habanero sauces on the table. Sides of jalapeño mac and cheese, coleslaw, corn on the cob (not sure what was in the butter sauce but it was tasty) had great flavor and portion size.
Most restaurants where you order at the counter are "self serve"; it was a nice touch that one of the servers made it a point to float through the dining area asking if we needed anything. On more reason Backwoods is my favorite BBQ spot in Corona.
