Stayed there only for one night (arrived late and departed early). Smooth check-inn! I got a big wonderful room with plenty of space, nice and tasty decorated but a rather small bath-room compare to the rest! I had an early breakfast, the waiter.. an elderly lady, was grumpy and not much service-minded.

My wife and I stayed while visiting friends in Walnut Creek. We enjoyed the location because it is easily accessible from the freeway yet far enough away and noise is not an issue. The Gentleman at check-in was very friendly and recognized us from a previous visit. The restaurant was outstanding and our server, Mario, was very good. The room was in great condition, very clean and we liked the decor. Breakfast was delicious and, finally, check-out was smooth.
We would recommend this hotel in every way. It doesn't happen often that everything is done right and that the people are friendly and courteous. Here we at it all.

I used to stay at this hotel back in the day when it was a Sheraton. I must say the hotel was better in every sense back when it was a member of that chain. The hotel itself is old, the elevators are from back in the 80's, the decor also dates a couple of decades back and the service though a bit slow, attempted to be as friendly and helpful as possible but they were most of the times clueless.

My experience was not terrible, but the rooms are very dark, there are some issues with the hot water, and the cable tv kept lagging every couple of minutes. These problems are minimal, but if you are paying a full rate for a Crowne Plaza hotel you might be a little disappointed.

I was in desperate need of the hot tub (i know.... first world problems...) and unfortunately the maintenance worker there said it was closed and he wasn't really sure when it would be open again the following day. I asked his co worker if he could call my room and let me know at what time it would be open since i was checking out the following day, he said "of course, I will inform the reception once i talk to my boss, he is in a meeting right now", but they never called (i was 100% sure that was going to happen so i didn't make a fuss about it).

Receptionists are friendly, the hotel is very close to everything, there is a starbucks across the street and they serve complementary starbucks coffee in the rooms. The happy hour is pretty consistent and noise is minimal. The internet is very quick.

The hallways are dark, the rooms are dark, the decor is very old, the water pipes aren't that good, the cable tv is terrible.

Overall if you are going to pay 160USD a night, you are in for a BAD deal.

Room Tip: Choose a room next to the parking lot, the window allows a little more natural light to brighten up your room. If you get one of the interior rooms you are going to be living in a cave.

We sincerely appreciate your comments regarding your recent stay . You are correct we were formerly a different brand, although we have been a Crowne Plaza for about 5 years now. During our five years we have continued to make capital improvements throughout the facility and we have several projects under way and nearing completion now. We are excited, from our guests perspective, with the positive changes to date and eager to continue with planned renovations. We work daily to improve our product and bring value to the full service segment in our area and I hope we see you sooner than 10 years for your next visit to follow our changes. I am so sorry to hear our therapy pool was down during your stay and that we failed to inform you of when it would be ready.
Our TV system has just completed a total HD upgrade and has received great comments from guests. I apologize for our "Service misses" and would enjoy an opportunity to meet you personally on your next visit, to share our plans and thank you

We attended a wedding at this hotel. We did not have the pleasure of staying here but we got to see the how beautiful the hotel was. The hall for the wedding was beautifully decorated and the lobby was nice and clean. There was plenty of parking for all the events that were being held at the hotel that night great hotel.

We have usually stayed in Walnut Creek, where our daughter and son-in-law lived for many years, but they recently moved to Martinez, so we needed a closer hotel. The Crowne Plaza near Buchanan Field had good reviews and we were not disappointed. The room was quiet, beds excellent. No free breakfast, but a very nice in-hotel restaurant. The nice surprise was the interior garden with trees that stretched up toward all three floors and a roof with skylights above, giving a feeling of being outdoors while being indoors. In fact, it reminded us a bit of a Disney creation. There was even a nice breeze blowing and and a waterfall and stream with koi. A small putting green was also present on the way to the swimming pool. The restaurant had a "veranda" above the garden plaza. The hotel is being renovated, but we were not disturbed as I think they may be almost finished. We plan to make this our new base whenever we visit our kids.

Room Tip: Try to stay away from the ice machines-- they are noisy even when you are inside your room.
