“Good Location - Vegan Options”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

Had a good dinner starting with TOM KHA PAK TOFU soup, which was flavorful and with well balanced seasoning in coconut broth. This would be a great soup to warm you on a cold day. Orders of KANG PAK, featuring tofu in a delicious red curry and PAD PAK RUAMMIT, blending tofu and vegetables and tofu in a light black bean garlic sauce. Both were well done and not too spicy/hot for American palates. We'll order them more spicy next time. A little disappointed that there were no noodle dishes made with tofu option on dinner menu. Pad Thai on lunch menu is offered sans shrimp (but with eggs). Well-rounded general menu with nice selection including appetizers, curries (red, yellow and green) and clay pot.
Staff were extremely courteous and attentive, even with a Friday night crowd, Food was well prepared and presented. Gracious care was offered from start to finish, even when providing leftover containers. Nice decor with rich paint colors, contemporary art, and colorful lighting fixtures. Well-appointed waiting area.
Although on a busy street, plenty of free parking available in city garage less than a block away (well-lit, patrolled and safe). Great restaurant for a date night with cinema across the street. Nice bookstore is located around corner. One block from Todo Santos Plaza, which is nice any time of day, and romantic at night for a stroll under the light-filled trees.

“Tried and Untrue”
Reviewed June 1, 2008

We love exotic food, tried this local restaurant several times, with friends form out of town, and by ourselves. It has been consistently an unpleasant experience. The food is not accourding to the taste that I grew up with (I grew up in Southeast Asia, and know what Thai cooking is supposed to be). Moreover, it has been different, always wrong, but differnet, each time we attend. Sometimes there is too much curry, other times there is no discernible flavor beyond the burned grill.

There is nothing to recommend this place. We have tried and tried, but we are convinced it is an overpriced place for young people who do not know any better. Certainly, it is not authentic Thai cooking or flavor.

“Fantastic Thai”
Reviewed May 22, 2007

I like this place so much I actually wondered whether I should let the word out, but my conscience won out! If you like Thai food then you should try this place and you'll know immediately how good it really is. If you haven't tried it before - hey try something new in a low risk atmosphere - surprise yourself. Highly recommend - Appetizers: Thai Stick - Veggie egg rolls, main courses - Panang nuer - delectable tender beef in a creamy red curry sauce, the green curry dishes, great seafood dishes, good vegetarian - especially the eggplant dish, fried rice. I work close to this place and this is THE best food in downtown Concord, along with Luna's. I also eat out regularly in Berkeley, Walnut Creek, San Francisco - the food here will blow away most of them. The one thing I would point out is that if you are looking for a very intimate, candlelit venue to pop the question - go to a place that is expensive atmosphere over quality food. Then - after she says yes - bring her here to show her that you really know the score. If you are looking for fantastic food then this is the place for you.
