“Ribs To Die For”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

This was our first visit, but definitely not our last. The service was outstanding with constant visits to our table to ensure our needs were met. The portions we extremely large and take home became a necessity ( tomorrow's lunch ). The ribs were outstanding as was the BBQ chicken. Each entree was accompanied by two sides which were also very tasty. We were seated next to the smoker and we watched as more and more meats were added for preparation. The schedule of cooking times was an interesting addition as we watched the smoking process. Cannot wait to return.

“Horrid service”
Reviewed July 23, 2013

Service was horrid and food was adequate. Will not be returning to this restaurant. I have eaten at other Lucille's and had much better service.

“Smell-a-vision”
Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

Eating at Lucille's was just like being in a TV show audience, wishing you could find out how delicious the fried ockra, smothered ribs or falling apart moist chicken tastes. It's GREAT.
The smell outside was heaven and led us to this newly opened restaurant. Perfect dipping sauces for each food. And three large BBQ bottles on the table were to smoother as we pleased.

“Large portions and great menu”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

Found the restaurant to be slightly overrated as I thought it would be more individual in style and selection of food. Turned out to be the usual fare expected from a chain restaurant. Not to say the food wasn't good, it is, but nothing out of the ordinary. I would go back again as you can at least count on consistently good service and you know the food will be great.

“Decent BBQ but go elsewhere for good quality BBQ”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

I met some friends here -- they thought they'd found a great BBQ place. Not. This place had recently opened in Concord. Where to begin???

Our waiter was young and way, way too "nice". He kept coming by every 5 minutes asking if we were ready to order. We weren't and told him so after the second attempt (I'd not seen my friends in years so we were chatting away and hadn't bothered to open the menu). We did place drink orders which were brought out fairly quickly. Yet the waiter kept coming back again and again until we finally told him we'd flag him down when ready to order.

So we ordered a while later. After may 3-5 minutes after serving, the same over attentiveness came back. Over and over. Really, just go away and leave us alone for a few minutes, okay?

The food was decent at best. And quite expensive for the food quality. Their only redeeming quality is their selection of overpriced microbrews on tap.

Don't go to Lucille's. Make the drive to Oakland or Berkeley and eat real BBQ at Everett & Jones. Or eat at Lucille's for poor food that is overpriced.
