We stayed at Villa Florentina because friends were getting married down the road. We didn't know what to expect because we didn't know anyone who had been there. I'm so glad we found Villa Florentina. Patsy was the perfect hostess; she made us so welcome that we felt as if we'd known her for years. She gave us recommendations for places to go and things to do, and cooked the most wonderful breakfasts each day. On the way there we got a little lost because we were navigating with the aid of my cell phone and there was no signal in the valley, so I drove to the top of the hill and called her. Not only did she give me directions but she offered to drive to me if necessary so that I could follow her back!! The room was beautifully appointed; they really had thought of everything to make our stay perfect. the villa is very peaceful, the grounds are magical, and there is lots to see and do in the area. I am looking forward to going back.

My husband and I needed a peaceful place to stay while I was in California for my brother's funeral. This place was perfect! It's so quiet and beautiful. The Villa is surrounded by hundreds of Olive trees that make it feel like you're in Italy. It's very tuscan. The Villa is very clean and smells fresh. The Honeymoon Suite is spacious and clean with a huge California King bed. The shower is also huge with dual shower faucets and soft water. I loved how the bathroom had all the things that I forgot to bring like: blow dryer, q-tips, cotton pads to remove makeup.... They also had comfy robes and large towels. I love the view from our room. No city sounds or lights. Just peace and nature. If you drive out less than a mile, you can go to the Coloma historical park where gold was first found in California and visit the monument there. If you drive maybe 25 minutes you can go to Apple Hill where they have the most delicious apple donuts, pies, and caramel apples. I'm so glad we stayed there. It was peaceful and a perfect place to relax, be comfortable indoors, and also enjoy the outdoors and nature.

Villa Fiorentina is a great place to visit. Great for weddings, honeymoon escape, family reunions or any special events. The venue is beautiful surrounded by beautiful olive trees. The hosts of the Villa, Patsy and Dave are great. They go above and beyond just to make sure their guests feel comfortable and pampered and taken care of. Rooms are beautiful, spacious, unique especially the honeymoon suite. Breakfast is the best. Make sure you try the Signature French Toast Casserole for breakfast its so delicious.

What a gorgeous place! I have attended a wedding and a special event here. The tranquil setting makes you feel like you are far from civilization, but there are a few accommodations in town and Sacramento Airport is about an hour away.

Noticing the other reviews, be warned, Coloma is hot in the summer. Just like you should expect snow in the winter if you get married in the mountains. I highly recommend the venue for a spring, fall, or winter event!

Being new to TripAdvisor, I thought I'd review a place that really stands out for me. Villa Florentina hosted my daughter's wedding and it was simply amazing!

Our experience there was wonderful, from start to finish. We ended up using some of the vendors from their preferred vendor list, but also chose some on our own. Loren and his staff were very helpful along the way, providing suggestions and helping with communication between the vendors. We (I helped with a lot of the planning) were willing to put in the extra effort so that her wedding was totally unique and elegant. The bride and groom and guests were absolutely thrilled with the results.

I'm not really sure how the previous reviewers could have any complaints about Villa Florentina. Loren had suggested that we rent large umbrellas in case it was hot and our guests needed shade and we did. Our caterer had an adequate supply of ice and drinks for our guests. Because we took Villa Florentina and our vendors’ advice and followed their recommendations, everything was perfect!
