“Good Service & Good Value for Money”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

We spent one night in a cabin with a comfy queen size bed in living area & bunks & bathroom in a separate area. Cabin had been modernised tastefully. Linen provided was clean & fresh. Airconditioning worked well. Staff were very friendly & helpful & called immediately they had found my prescription sunglasses I had left behind. Cabins are small but adequate - as we spent our time at lovely Cronulla beach only a few minutes drive away. We felt it was good value for money.

I stayed at the Cronulla Cabins once before and found them to be basic but acceptable in an emergency. The second time my wife booked in advance and the owner (Frederico) billed her in advance for $1,600, with $400 actually taken out of our credit card account. He did not provide a receipt. When we cancelled the booking 6 weeks in advance, the owner refused to refund the deposit, saying he can only credit it to us for future use.

We had to go to the Cabins to try to resolve the matter. Finally, we were able to get the receipt, for the first time seeing the actual billing amount and money already taken out. The receptionist refused to refund the deposit and Frederico confirmed by later email that he will not refund the deposit but only “credit it against any future stays”.

This happened on the 13th of January, more than 2 weeks before our cancelled stay. When we said we would complain to the Dept. of Fair Trading, the owner just ignored us.

We are now trying to cancel the credit card amount that Frederico already took from our credit card. I am also writing a complaint letter to Dept. of Fair Trading.

In all my years of travel, staying in anything from luxury hotels to Laotian hovels, I have never experienced such shoddy, shonky, and frankly predatory behaviour by a proprietor.

Beware and stay well away from Frederico and his infamous Cronulla Cabins!!!!

Room Tip: Stay well away from the place...

We stayed here for four nights and found this accommodation suited our needs quite adequately and for four of us it was cheap and very convenient. It was excellent to have a secure place to park our vehicle and there was also plenty of road side parking outside. The train station wasn't too far away - we are both sixty and found the walk to be fine. Yes the cabins are small but ours was clean and the bed was fine. The people we met int the park were all very pleasant and the staff helpful. Yes it is basic accommodation but it is what it is! We had other family members who were staying down by the beach and paying a great deal more than us and having the problem of having to find parking all the time. Perhaps people need to think about what they are paying and yes, if they can find something better for the same cost in Cronulla then go for it. By the way if you like a busy beach holiday then Cronulla is the place for you. Beautiful coastline, heaps of excellent restaurants and Sydney only a train trip away.

Give this place a miss. We had a group booking for the Sydney International Gymfest at Cronulla and had six or seven cabins booked. It has some permanent residents who are somewhat undesirables. We had a domestic dispute going on in the cabin next door for two nights of our five night stay. The response from the caretaker was poor. We were on the verge of calling the police. Apparently we had also used our quota of two rolls of toilet paper for our stay and had to buy our own if we needed more. We also left a night earlier just to get out of the place.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

Cabins were basic and the bed comfortable. The accommodation is not 4 star and things are a little cramped but it suited my needs for 4 nights. I found the lady in the office obliging and helpful. If you are driving a larger car its difficult to park in your allocated parking spot. A long walk to Woolooware Train Station as that appears to be the closest. You need a car if you expect to get around easily.Next to shops and Service Station if you need basic supplies. I would stay there again if I am looking for something cheap and quiet.

Room Tip: See if you can get one of the newer cabins as they are set out a little different to give you more r...

Cronulla Cabins are simply horrible. Our bed was infested with BED BUGS,  I must have killed atleast 10 of them before we fled the cabin. The sheets also had old blood stains on them, I'm assuming from the bed bugs biting previous guests. When reporting this to management they were very in compassionate and made excuses that this had never been reported before and I find this extremely hard to believe as this is the worst case of bed bugs that I have ever seen.   Just horrible. I would never stay there again.

We were getting a little bit desperate and were pleasantly surprised by this. There is not a lot of space around the place, but there are trees and it is pretty quiet. The facilities in the cabin were excellent and the lady in the office was really nice and helpful. It was very clean - if you are after a hotel room this is not for you, but if it's great self-contained accommodation.
