Room - nice, quiet, well-equipped
Location - average, too fat to Yosemite National Park
Sleep Quality - really good
SPA/Pool - small, not clean

This is hotel/casino for elderly people. So, if you are under 40, skip this hotel.

Fun place ! Great indoor outdoor pool. Small arcade but great for our 5 & 6 year olds. The buffet is super! Nice floor manager...Anthony. I agree with other reviews about cigarette smoke smell. Not good.

We stayed here two nights surrounding a day trip to Yosemite. We liked everything about it with the exception of the smell of cigarette smoke throughout the casino level. If there is one thing that can be improved the smoke smell is it.

We used the 1/2 indoor,1/2 outdoor pool and both the spas and had a blast.

Rooms were clean and the bathrooms were great having the ability to shower and get ready at the sink at the same time.

The Chukchansi had the best prices near Yosemite and we were pleasantly surprised with the room. It was large with two queen beds. We paid $126 and booked through the casino's website. The bathroom fixtures were rubbed bronze and very nice, but I was surprised that the furniture was very scuffed up. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. We went to the Wednesday buffet for dinner and there was a long wait (30 minutes) just to get in, but there really wasn't any other place around there to eat. We played the slots just for a few minutes and promptly lost $10 but we didn't (obviously) come for gambling. I would stay here again if we were in the area.

Nice room, updated, modern rooms with comfortable beds. Service was very courteous. Unfortunately, because it is a casino, they allow smoking in the hotel and there was an overly pungent smell of some fragrance trying to mask the heavy smoke smell. Yuck. We went in the lobby for five minutes to see if we could check in early and after I returned to the car it took me 20 minutes to get that smell out of my nose. Also the pool was advertised as heated and it was cold!

Room Tip: Ask for the new tower, decor is updated.

Plan to find lodging near the south end of YNP. Most cities close to the park were booked up or very costly. We found the room at the casino to be large and clean. The beds were comfortable and room surprisingly quiet since it was a casino. The drive to YNP was reasonable, so we were glad we decided to stay here rather then a cheaper option further away such as fresno. No breakfast included with stay, but we did eat at the restuarant within the casino prior to check out and found the prices to be cheap and quality of food fair. Cottage potatoes were dry. One negative would be the distance of parking from the hotel. It is a long haul if you don't want to utilize the free valet parking, staff was not the friendliest when we checked in, and the outdoor pool area was very small.
We were able to gas up in oakhurst prior to driving into the park as well as stop at subway to pick up a sandwich to enjoy in the park during one of our hikes.

We had researched hotels/motels in the Yosemite Valley area that were reasonably priced, not the $300-400 a night Yosemite Valley prices, for the month of July. Also looked at hotels in the Oakhurst area and those also were pushing $200-300 a night for an old room and old hotel. We had passed this resort several times on the way to Yosemite on earlier trips and this time we decided to give it a try.

Overall a clean, quality hotel with plenty of amenities, and 7 restaurants on site and about 1/3 the price of staying in a Yosemite Valley older room or tent cabin. Be aware though that the drive into Yosemite Valley is roughly 1 1/2 hrs depending how fast you drive the curving mountain roads, we were trying to drive slower than normal though with our 8 and 4 years old's in the backseat.

Check in: Arrived around 5:30 pm on a Sunday night and they had 2 people working on checking people in, with about 7-8 people waiting in line, 1 devoted to mountain and summit guests.

At 5:54 pm a third employee came to help, the other two employees working very slow and disinterested. Finally a couple of minutes later a 4th worker came to help. Completed check in at 6:00 pm. Kind of shaky experience for first impressions though.

Rooms are nice and clean. We were in the newer non smoking tower. Each comes with a small refrigerator and either two queens or one king.

Had a problem with TV, turned it on but could not change channels, lower volume or turn it off. Called front desk, maintenance came up within five minutes and came with a new remote which fixed the problem.

We stayed Sunday thru Wednesday and this hotel has 7 restaurants. Deuces Cafe closed Monday Tuesday however as well as the Arcade for the kids.

We ordered room service for breakfast and it was average, nothing to exciting and prices were about average for the service.

Typical casino games here, we were not here for gambling but lost(donated) a few bucks anyways!

No resort fees, free valet, we tipped them though, which was very convenient after spending the day in the Valley and not wanting to look for a parking spot and walk to the hotel.

Overall would rather stay here in a comfortable bed and own bathroom then camping or staying in an overpriced Valley room. Solid 4 star property here.

Room Tip: Ask for the newer non smoking rooms, they have updated furnishings.
