Stayed here with son while visiting nearby colleges. Very nice. We didn't try the restaurant with so many good choices in the nearby village. The rooms all have a balcony, so ask for one facing the courtyard rather than the car park. There's a nook off the lobby with a couple of computers & a printer, handy for printing a boarding pass before you leave. Definitely recommend.

This was a lovely hotel, and reasonably priced. Food in the restaurant onsite was good but a bit expensive and the breakfast enchilada was huge. Too much for one meal. I used the weight room.

I noted that in dry southern California, there was a lot of vegetation and probably too much use of the precious resource of water. Maybe could think about being more envioronmentally friendly.

The welcome chocolate chip cookies were scrumptioius!

I don't like to spend more money than necessary on an overly luxurious hotel but I really do appreciate having clean, nice surroundings. We usually don't spend much time in our hotel, we are traveling to see the sights or visit friends and family and the hotel just gives us a place to relax briefly, sleep and get ready for the next day's adventures.

We chose this hotel because it seems to have lots of good reviews and we were not disappointed. The front desk was efficient, the room was clean and very nicely decorated. We paid $89/night for a king room with a patio. The sliding door to the patio was difficult to latch but that is the only complaint I have about the room. The bedspread was a nice, soft chocolate brown, quite a relief from the usual scratchy polyester feeling bedspreads in most hotels. There was also a duvet surrounded by sheets instead of a yucky old blanket.

There was an empty fridge, hooray - no mini-bar - along with a coffee pot. Oh, I almost forget, the buffet breakfast was $16, yes, no typo, it cost $16 so we skipped that and had a wonderful breakfast at the Village Grill about a mile and a half away in Claremont Village. They served a large, great meal for about half of the cost of the hotel's buffet.

Our bill was slipped under our door on the morning we were checking out so all we had to do was pack the car.

When my travel involves flying in or out of Ontario airport and I'll have a rental car, I try to stay at the nearby Claremont Doubletree hotel. It is a renovation of the old Griswalds resort, so, while renovated, the rooms are older and some are pretty small. After about five visits I found the staff to be unfailingly friendly, the breakfasts wonderful, and the place much more quiet and peaceful than anything near the airport. Limited restaurants nearby (Buca De Beppo etc.)

This little hidden gem was a nice getaway. We picked it because it was 10 miles from where we were suppose to be and we didn't have a chance to check reviews, so we went with an open mind...lol.. We noticed little shops and restaurants on our drive up from the freeway. It's close to a Trader Joes and Buca Dipeppo? As we checked in, we were presented with two chocolate cookies that were still warm and tasty. So yummy. As we strolled up to our rooms, we noticed the nice courtyard where people were having coffee, then noticed the nice pool people were enjoying. After we arrived in our room, everything was clean and nicely decorated. The room had a seperate living room with flatscreen TV and a hidden tiny refrigerator. The bathroom had a huge seperate shower from the tub (which was nice) You could fit 4-5 people in that shower...lol.. They carried Neutrogena products., The bedroom had a nice kingsize bed with a flatscreen TV and another hidden refrigerator.. Oh and the hairdryer was in a bag in the closet (just in case you're looking for it)??? Our room had a view of the courtyard. The only thing I noticed was a stain on the comforter which was no big thing, I just decided not to use the comforter she we only stayed one night.

We received complimentary breakfast since we're diamond members, which was good. We had the buffet. They had the usual. We left fed and satisfied. The staff was very pleasant and attentive to us. We really didn't have to ask for anything.

Overall, we plan on coming back. It was a nice change up from the norm places we go to.

We were visiting the Claremont McKenna colleges and were delighted with the Double Tree. Nice room and pleasant pool. The hotel restaurant was empty and did not appeal to us, but we preferred to eat in the village anyway. Hotel staff were helpful with directions.

Based on some of the previous reviews, we stayed here only because of its proximity to the Claremont Colleges and our limited time for commuting to towns further away. The check-in and check-out went smoothly. Our room was clean and everything was in good order. We thought a sliding door did not work but a hotel engineer checked it out (although we waited an hour for his arrival). It turned out that another security lock we had not opened accounted for the door seeming "stuck".
Having previewed the breakfast prices, we opted out and enjoyed an authentic Mexican breakfast in an adjacent town -- not the quaint but pricey Claremont Village -- for $6 per person. However, we did enjoy relaxing at the pool.
I agree that the hotel's wall are thin and would recommend you bring along a sound soother or ear plugs. We were in building D along a side street in the back of the complex and there was no street noise.
