“Get it? Got it? Good!”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

Go here. Sample everything. Watch your budget (it is amazingly easy to drop $50 on craft cheese). Note the specialty oil selections and other non-cheese items. This is the only store in eastern SoCal that carries every kind of cheese imaginable (I disagree with another review that the selection is not vast -- for cheese). That includes local varieties that are delicious and that I had never seen before. Staff is super knowledgeable, helpful, young and cute.

“Stop! Even if you are on a road trip!”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

The Cheese Cave is a local delight and I will often explore the very delectable variety of beautiful cheese. However, even if we are planning a road trip or traveling, we will stop for snacks. They make delicious sandwiches, and you can get lovely cornichons, imported olives, sausage, crackers, chocolate, and nice sodas in glass bottles. Every item is carefully selected and fantastic. It makes a perfect picnic or small buffet of VERY fine car food, so don't ignore this stop, even if you can't take cheese with you.

“Great cheese shop, better staff”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

This is a cheese shop in downtown Claremont and it has a large selection of cheese and things that go with cheese. The selection is not vast, but it is exquisite. The staff makes this place - they are very knowledgeable and fun. Do not miss a chance to visit.

“Don't Miss this Delightful Cave!”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This family owned business is definitely worth continuing up Yale, a few steps north of Bonita to visit. Great for picking up a picnic (ready made sandwich or do it yourself from the vast assortment of cheese and meats) to enjoy in the park or college grounds. Wine and beer. Delightful, knowledgable staff and really neat selection of non-edible gift items.

I was making raclette for friends, and while it was out of season for raclette cheese, they suggested several I could substitute...and the raclette dinner ended up being a fun evening. The cheese was delicious!

“"Cheeses from around the world in the Inland Empire - Claremont"”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Founded by two sisters, Cheese Cave has been operating in Claremont, California since June 2010. This shop offers not only some of the best cheeses from around the world, but also some special wines, local beers, hot sauces, olives and chocolates. I bought some of my favorite French, Italian and English cheeses there before and also had the lunch "grab". They make sandwiches every day for lunch, using the special cheeses from the store's inventory. Three sandwiches are offered, two vegetarian and one with meat. The sandwich that caught my eye today was made with mortadella and English Cheddar on the nice crusty french roll. There is always some other item with the lunch, so I picked gherkin pickled cucumbers. They also put some grainy mustard in my bag, which I spread on the mortadella. The sandwich was great, the staff knows their cheeses and products and will gladly help you decide what type of cheese (or cheeses) you want to buy. On my next visit, I'm planning to get three four cheeses to create a gourmet mac and cheese for my family and friends. This is a "cheesmonger's heaven", so stop by, sample and take some great cheese with you. You can also have a gift cheese platter made - so you can share the fare and be admired!
