Norms is a family owned SoCal landmark establishment. The newest one in Claremont is, like the others, open 24 hours and jammed all the time. There is always at least a 10 minute wait and if you are there anywhere close to peak times it can be up to an hour. The food though is great 1950's American comfort foods with good burgers, excellent omelettes and hand spun milk shakes. Big comfortable booths and tables complete the intimate diner feel despite its large (overflowing) capacity. Service moves pretty quickly but is always pleasant, accommodating and has never gotten an order wrong all the times I have been there. There is a Denny's across the street and BC is down the way a bit and Norm's opened anyway to a packed house.

Took my cousin there Monday for his birthday. Five to ten minute wait for a Monday morning. I was very surprised to see how crowded it was for a Monday.Server gave us the larger of two tables and we were only two! Waitress very nice and accommodating, and breakfast very good and prices were reasonable. At least six waitresses came over with a complimentary ice cream sundae and sang to my cousin. I went back tonight for take out: Santa Fe turkey wrap, very good.

This was the first time we had ever been to a Norm's. We visited with our family who lives California. It was almost 10:00 p.m. when we visited and the restaurant was very busy and noisy. We did not have to wait long for seating and our waitress was extremely nice! The food was good and they give you a lot of it. Lots of variety and our large party had lots to choose from. The prices are very reasonable too. All-in-all, Norm's was a good go-to for typical Denny's-type American food.

We went in to eat breakfast on Easter Sunday and there was quite a long line outside to be seated. We went in to put our name in and the hostess asked us if we would be interested in two seats at the counter. Looking at the long line ahead of us, we took the counter seats. Our waitress was great. She kept our coffee cups filled and always checked back to see if we needed anything more. We each ordered the Big and Better Breakfast and we sure didn't have to wait long for it either. The only thing that was wierd was that the normal price is something like $5.99 but for that day only, the price was $7.49. We thought that was a tad unclassy to raise the price on Easter Sunday. Anyway, the food was good. The coffee was good. The waitress was good. We were happy with it all. Will we go again? Most definately. Norm's has good food!

Norm's has the absolute fluffiest Pancakes! However, it is the Steaks you will want to order! My kudos to the chefs you can see working their magic there in the open Kitchen! There are several Norm's in this area, but the one at Indian Hill, Claremont, CA is the BEST in my opinoin! We can't resist letting them cook for us most of the time! ;)
