Hip Kitty was a chance stop for us and it was worth it. We'll never forget it. It has a trendy-tacky sort of feel with all the 1970's-esc decor (christmas when we visited). Great for drinks and music.

It's called Hip Kitty Jazz and Fondue. You know that from the outset and that's what they do well. If jazz is not your thing and you are lactose intolerant, this not the place for you, but the name of the restaurant already conveys that message.

When you hit the door you know instantaneously that the evening is going to be a unique experience. Dinner is an all night affair, so settle in for an evening of cheesy and chocolatey decadence and a fun atmosphere. We went on a Saturday night and saw Janet Klein and Her Parlor Boys. They played long sets of quirky 1920's and 1930's music that was fun and lively. They were terrific.

Yes, this place has live music nightly, a rarity these days. Fondu and cheese plates are the only food items.

Let's go back to the 70s. Love the atmosphere. So cool. Fondue is very good, but the jazz nights, they're great!!

We had the fondue dinner and I'd give it an 8 out of 10. This club has lots of music going on. I recommend going on a night when the Claremont Voodoo Society is playing. They are a great band and when they play at the Hip Kitty they invite other good musicians to play with them or on their own...it's always good.
