booked about 2 weeks prior for 1st floor level. Unable to accomadate, as clerk just noticed the note @ check in. Stayed 3 days, had to rekey room every day as would not allow access. last day rekeyed still did not work had maintenance guy come with, 1 of the 2 finally worked. Ice machine did not work, looked like for along while. Maid service was good. Also walking distance to trolley stop about a block which is good access but you hear the warning bells over road /q 20 min starting @ 430am..bring earplugs. unable to slide key to front desk > hrs just padlock and chain on door.
Dear valued guest,i apologized for the uncomfortable stays.I'm so sorry that the room doesn't meet your expectations,I know how frustrated you are rekeying the key over and over again. If i had known it i will go above and beyond to change your room.Tell us what you need and we will try our best to meet your expectations.
We stayed at this motel as a way to save some money when travelling to San Diego from Ohio. We didn't go in with grand expectations and I think that helped. We read the previous reviews and knew what we were getting: a decent place for a low price in an ok location. That's exactly how it played out.
We were put in a ground-level room next to the pool so we had a decent amount of noise the entire week we stayed there. Not only from the pool, but from people walking by the room and from people in the rooms next to & above us. We were so tired after filling our days with activities, that we fell asleep fairly easily every night. I suppose if you were planning on staying in your room for a large chunk of time, this would not be the place for you. But we just needed a place to stay that was decent, while we ran around southern California.
The free breakfast was ok, it was your standard waffle maker along with pastries, toast, oatmeal, and cereal. Also there was coffee, tea, and juice. So enough to get you going, and if you wanted more variety there's plenty of options in the area (including a Denny's across the street). There's also a couple other restaurants in the immediate vicinity, as well as a Taco Bell and McDonald's.
One nice thing is that it's close to the train station so if you want to go into downtown, you can easily walk over to the train station and catch a ride.
The interior of the room itself was pretty standard, nothing spectacular and not a dump, either. The beds took up most of the main room, and there was a bathroom area. Again, nothing spectacular but it worked for us. They do have multiple HBO channels so if you want to watch a movie, you can likely find something on tv.
Overall, if you're looking for a good value then this is a decent choice in this area.
