Our family went to Grana on Saturday afternoon. After waiting at least 10 minutes to get water, we had another 10 minutes to get our order taken. Long story short, the pizza was outstanding but with only 2 waitresses who were doing their best with a crowd eating outside, those of us inside had longer wait times. Hope they can get it figured out. But don't miss the pizza-outstanding chewy crust.

Wait staff was super friendly and informative. That's the best I can say about the place. Pizza, special order, was very soggy and drippy in the middle for spinach, mushroom and cheese. Not fond of lemon slices on my spinach and mushroom pizza and they were very stingy with the cheese. Dressing was over spiced and watery for blue cheese on a wedge but at least the wedge lettuce was fresh. Overpriced for what we ordered and neither of us was impressed with what they considered were creative flavors.

We ate here for our last meal in Chico! It was a great night with really original and fresh food. We trusted the wait staff to order our food and everything was great!

Interesting menu selections await diners at this new Chico restaurant. Their small plate offerings are quite interesting. We enjoyed their anchovies with a radish and sauce verd (Italian parsley, rocket, garlic & olive oil) served with crostini was superb. Their pizzas from the wood burning oven were tasty. The one disappointing dish was the roasted brussel sprouts with pancetta, capers and shaved Parmesan cheese on top. There was a huge serving of brussel sprouts, a little cheese, a few capers and a very small amount of pancetta. On top of that, the sprouts were burnt. We complained to the waiter and were immediately offered a replacement dish with ample amounts of cheese, capers and pancetta. The chef and the owner came over to apologize and were very genuine stating that they strive to be the very best so they appreciate customers communicating issues that are in need of correction. Well done on their part!

The restaurant interior is a two story open space with hard surfaces. When we arrived there was a group of about 10 people at a corner table at the far end of the space making loud conversation. This echoed throughout the place making normal conversation difficult. It would be better if the owner installed some noise reduction panels hanging from the volumetric space.

Although we were there on a cool November night, they have a large patio that would be appealing on warm nights or at lunch time.

I have been eating in Chico since I was a kid. There are a lot of great and different establishments serving big-city style food. Grana is one of the more creative places in town. They make gourmet pizza flatbreads but their strength is the amazing small plates. Super creative stuff like fire oven roated cauliflower with capers, fire roasted brussel sprouts and shrimp arugula salad. Simple modern decor and a nice outdoor patio when its not to blazing hot-it is Chico where we have temps in the 100s quite often in the summer. The place is built in an old Grand auto service bay and still retains the italian name for grand-Grana. It is not swanky and upscale like Crush, Leon, etc but eat your way through the small plates with a glass of wine and you will not be dissappointed. Great people watching and wine list.
