“Chico Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2014

If you are visiting Chico and have a need for a little or a lot of exercise Bidwell is great. The terrain is both flat and at the north end hilly. The park follows a creek part of the way and has great bird-watching all along. The nature center parking lot is wonderful birding without even going for a walk.
Bidwell Park and the bike passages in Chico should keep bikers happy for days. And then of course there is the Sierra Nevada Brewery for the end of the day.

“Bidwell Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2013

Bidwell Park is a municipal park located in Chico, California. The park was established July 10, 1905 through the donation by Annie Bidwell (widow of Chico's founder, John Bidwell) of approximately 2,500 acres (10 km²) of land to the City of Chico. Since that time, the City has purchased additional land, such as Cedar Grove in 1922, and 1,200 acres (5 km²) of land south of Big Chico Creek in upper Bidwell Park in 1995. Today, the total Park size is 3,670 acres (15 km²), nearly 11 miles (18 km) in length, making it the third largest municipal park in California and one of the 25 largest city parks in the United States.

Thank You Annie for this gift that keeps on giving. Runners, walkers, bikers, skaters and equestrians cherish the daily time in this, one of the largest city parks in the nation. Take some time to enjoy the natural beauty.

“Exquisite park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2013

I've spent many happy hours cycling the pathways here, skating, and just strolling. Absolutely gorgeous, full of surprises, and seems to connect all the pieces of Chico. If you're in town DEFINITELY stop by this park. You won't regret it.

“Take a walk here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

Whether you walk, run, bike, skate, etc the park is a beautiful place to roam. Kids love Caper Acres. The creek has lots of good picnic spots. The views are different in every season and most spectacular in fall.
