Lovely park with nice trails. Everyone we passed was incredibly friendly. There were also lots of families and dogs.

“Gorgeous scenery”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

Some trails were closed due to the "monsoons" of NoCal's winter season, but plenty of the park was accessible. We were on the north rim trail and enjoyed the scenery (and the geologist got to enjoy the geology, too). Wish I were in better physical condition, so I could have climbed further up the foothill trail we were on!!

“Wild or civilized”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

You can have your choice in this park.................the upper park is undeveloped and wild. There are lots of areas for hiking and mountain biking. Lower park is developed with paved roads going through it, playgrounds, and ball fields. There is a natural creek that flows through the middle of the park, and it is used to form a public swimming "pool" in the lower park. This is surrounded by lots of grass and large shade trees so it is great in the hot summer months. Also unique.

“Always a great walk”
Reviewed December 9, 2012

Always worth a walk through the park to enjoy the trees and some good conversation.

Dislike: smell of marijuana growing in summer.
Like: everything else.

“Historic Beauty”
Reviewed November 23, 2012 via mobile

Bidwell Park is a real treasure within the city, and especially nice in the Fall. The colors are amazing, and the park is full of trails. There is a creek running thru it, and the very historic Bidwell Mansion is nearby. There is swimming at One Mile, Children's playgrounds, and a golf course in upper park. It is a terrific place.
