Decent value for the area. Room was clean albeit in need of some renovation. Service from the owners was attentive. The tv was tinyas noted by others but surprisingly (relatively) easy to see despite its size. Some of the other guests were a bit rough around the edges but I didn't experience any problems with them. For one night it was fine. For a longer stay in the area, I would suggest forking out another sixty bucks if that was affordable for a cottage at Bailey Creek. I didn't run into any noise issues but based on other comments, a second floor room would probably be a safer bet.

Clean, cheap hotel in best location for lassen volcanic park; diner is opposite and other restaurant next door. Friendly owner and free wifi. Two issues; in the room we stayed in, the bathroom was huge but the washbasin was outside in the bedroom. Visiting the loo in the middle of the night meant disturbing the family. Second, as other commenters have noted, there is a problem with noise from adjoining rooms. On the first night, the people above decided to reenact Napoleon's retreat from Moscow, waking us all up at 4am. I could also hear the guy next door watching Star Trek at 2 in the morning. But the second night was peaceful

We enjoyed staying here at Chester. The front desk was friendly and attentive, the room was SUPER clean and comfy. The bath area was BIG and roomy with lots of fresh thick towels to use. No problems with anything or anyone.... would stay again if in the area.

Stayed here twice in July 2013. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Parking abundant. Chester isn't a great town for dining, but that isn't the motel's fault.

Tech issues here were a disappointment: the WiFi only works in one or two rooms closest to the hotel lobby; the satellite TV is so difficult to navigate i pretty much gave up the first time I stayed here and called the front desk fellow to come to my assistance the second time.

All in all, a decent stay for a fair price, but could be significantly more user friendly.

We stayed here while visiting our son who works at Lassen Volcanic National Park. We were honestly worried that this would be a "Bates Motel" experience. We were pleasantly surprised to find the room very clean and the staff welcoming and accommodating. There are not a lot of frills - no cosmetics to speak of, small TV. But there is a refrigerator and a very nice grocery store across the street. This worked well as a place to rest our heads in-between sight seeing. And we didn't have to camp!

We stayed for two nights in July. I was a little worried after reading a couple of not-so-positive reviews since I'm picky about motels, but I found that most of the complaints were either trivial or inaccurate (at least for our experience). The place is ultra clean, the bed very comfy, there was internet access in the room for my ipad, it was quiet and restful, and the room was spacious and charming. I've stayed in the Best Western motel down the road, it's nice too and they allow pets, but I think I like the Antlers better. If you're traveling with a dog or are driving to Chester to watch big screen television, stay at the Best Western. Otherwise, stay at the Antlers Motel. It's comfortable and clean. Plus it's substantially cheaper. Nice place.

Stayed for a night in July. Hotel is in Chester, near Mt. Lassen and Lake Almanor. Place looks to be very new. The rooms are large and very clean. It's two stories and right across the street from a grocery store. A couple of restaurants are within a short walking distance.
The real only downside is the TV's are micro sized. They are hard to see if you are laying in bed.
