“Dining Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

When I read reviews of restaurants, I ignore those reviews which give the restaurant the highest possible rating and those with the lowest, I read the rest. When I write a review I try to give an accurate description of my experience. Seldom does a restaurant get top rating. Dish is truly the best dining experience in the Valley. The restaurant is very small and located in a strip mall in Cathedral City. I am sure many would be turned off by the size and location. If you can get beyond this, you will experience an incredible evening. Reservations are a must! The staff are very friendly and work together well. Our meal was smoked tomato bisque for each. The flavor was unique and enjoyable. My wife had Coq au Vin ($28) and I had the NY Strip steak($36). Both dishes were cooked perfectly and the flavors were exceptional. We had eight small tastings (amuse bouches) delivered to the table. Each was imaginative and flavorful, creating the dining experience (not just a meal). The wine list has several good choices at $40 or less. If you want a good meal, several restaurants in the Valley will suffice. If you want a true experience, call Dish for a reservation.

“silly little restaurant”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

To small be successful in the long run. Good food, great aspirations but in a big city it would be far down the list. But in Cat City, beside Taco Lita's and hamburger joints it is different. You make a reservation or try to and they kinda laugh, and say call back in a week. the wine is served poorly and by folks who don't know how to open or pour and they handles the glass bowl with their hands, so the bowl is nice and spotty with someone's greasy fingers.
Sorry ladies/girls, but bettre luck next time.
High expections but little delivered.

“Foodies can now find a home in Cathedral City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

Have eaten here a few times since they opened in late fall... EVERY experience has been top notch! Food and service both excellent. My only criticism... It's become so popular now, i can't get in for Friday or Saturday dinner service without a reservation days in advance (except for VERY late seatings). The amuse bouche were tantalizing and ever changing. Prices are quite reasonable for what we receive every trip.

“Budget High Cuisine in Cathedral City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2013

DISH deserves a 5.5! My bay area wine aficionado friend says the wine list is very interesting, with small wineries seldom carried in small restaurants, at very reasonable prices. We enjoyed two appetizers, one with burrata cheese and tomatoes, shared among two couples. Their amuse bouches came in a blur, may seven of them. They are tiny and terrifically creative. We've reserved our return visit already, for a party of eight.

“An excellent experience in every way.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Heard about Dish from locals as we are in Palm Springs 2 months every year. Portions are small, BUT they bring you delightful amuse-bouches (little bites) every few minutes. So you end up very satisfied, especially as the quality of the food is excellent. We raved about the soup, which my wife feels is an indicator of a good restaurant. All four of us liked everything we had. We will be back for sure!
