So so many things to love! about this Family Run Gem!. Located In the seaside laid back town of Carpinteria. No traffic..no crowds...except the full tables inside..no valet parking rip off. The entire vibe is warm, inviting, caring. Exceptional service, attention to detail and the food is beyond delicious!!!!!! Fabulous Salad selections that take advantage of locally grown produce...Melt in your mouth entrees...the Salmon..the Veal Pizziola just to name a couple...Wonderful selections to choose from...Don't even think twice Just Go...You will be glad you did!

“Reasonably priced excellence”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

Anna and Franco's trattoria, with son Gio in the kitchen, is an extremely friendly place with excellent food. The menu was mostly traditional Italian fare, but with enough variation to make it really interesting. Sauces are excellent. The prices are right in this high rent California area (Santa Barbara and Montecito are just west of here.)

Hands down best in Carpinteria!!! Love Anna, Gio and Frank they are fantastic down to earth people that clearly take pride in making everyone that steps in the door feel very welcome.

We come to Carpinteria about once a month if not twice and Giannfranco's is always on our list of places to eat. sometimes more than once. (hehehe)

Love the dessert tray too, very fresh and delicious!

a bit pricey but worth it.

“Another wonderful dinner”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

We were in Carpinteria and as we do every time we have dinner with Gio, Frank and Anna.

The service was impeccable. Our waiter was on top of everything without making us feel rushed. We like to take our time and enjoy the Giannfranco's experience. Usually we spend 1.5 to 2 hours. I know most people hurry through their meals like their at McD's but it's worth the time. Try it.

Our food was prepared to perfection. I had the New York and my wife had I think Sea Bass. I like my meat rare and it came that way. No PC crap. Prepared like it was ordered.

After our meal the dessert tray was a hit. I had a glass of port.

Another exceptional dining experience at Giannfranco's. We will be back in March.

“Lunch was meh.”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

I went to lunch with my partner and we expected big things. This restaurant is known in the area as a top dog, so we were disappointed when it took over 20 minutes after we were seated to meet our server. We ate in the back garden area, which was beautiful, so we didn't mind too much. We decided to stick around, although several other tables left without paying for the drinks they consumed. The food was good, not great, and was certainly not worth the dollars shelled out. In the end we were given a lame apology and went on our way. I might go back, but not for lunch.
