We were very happy with our stay. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and breakfast had excellent choices and was very good. We arrived there from staying in at the Yosemite Lodge. YL cost more, did not include breakfast, was really run down and was missing the wonderful staff. Country Inn was a palace in comparison. We were sorry we had not planned to stay longer and explored more of the area

I had to find a place near Holman Ranch to stay for the night for a business meeting and found this place through TripAdvisor. The staff are really nice and accommodating. The gentleman who was making waffles was hilarious. But the actual rooms are kind of worn down. It seemed clean though. I would have liked nicer linens for the beds which were comfortable enough.

One thing I found confusing when booking was this place actually has 2 different properties -- Hidden Valley Inn which is down the hill from where you pick up you keys at check in and there's another property, Acacia Lodge which is about 3 minutes away by car. We stayed in the Hidden Valley Inn.

What a great bunch of people at this establishment. From the moment we walked in it felt as if we were part of the family. The "wine hour" is great as you get to meet other people. We stayed over the Big Sur marathon weekend so there were quite a few runners at the hotel. On the morning of the race Dirk made all the runners breakfast before they had to catch the bus at 3:30am. Definitely a place I will come back to.

My husband, father and I stayed at the Country Garden Inns Acacia Lodge during the Big Sur Marathon weekend 04/27/12-04/30/12. We had to be on the marathon buses at 3:30am and the InnKeepers got up in the wee hours of the morning to make sure we had breakfast. The wine and cheese hour was great and everyone made you feel right at home. The surroundings were beautiful and it was very quiet and relaxing. When we make it back to Carmel Valley, we will definitely stay here and would definitely recommend the Inn to all of our friends and family!!

Thanks!

We had a wonderful stay at Country Garden Inns and would definitely stay there again, as well as recommend it to friends.

It is a quiet and rustic setting with all the expected hotel conveniences - like a bed and breakfast, with more privacy. We enjoyed our stay immensely and considered it a real value compared to other, pricier places in Carmel Valley.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Absolutely stunning. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere. We were so taken with the inn we decided to cut short our time In san Francisco and came back for another night. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Even though the innn was fuly booked we heard not a peep through the night. The outdoor patio for each room was an added bonus! Highly recommend a stay here. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I recently spent one week-end night at the Country Gardens Inn in Carmel Valley. The property is a motel from around the 1980's set back from the road down a driveway, ensuring privacy. On the plus side, the motel had very large rooms, had recently been painted, new beige carpets and wicker furniture, free Wi-Fi, an extremely comfortable king-sized bed, lots of hot water, and a small deck out back with two chairs. It is, however, from the 1980's and the walls and beam-ceilings are not insulated and sound proofed. The bathroom, also large, needs updating. There were lovely camellia bushes, and a pool ( heated only from Memorial Day to Labor Day, with no jacuzzi). a charcoal grill appears available for those who want to cook out, though I didn't see any kitchen faciilties. The Inn serves the usual breakfast bar in a cheery breakfast room with breathtaking views of the mountains from its big plate glass windows. A short walk away is Carmel Valley Village with a nice city parklet, numerous wine tasting rooms, restaurants, and a good coffeehouse. Since the location is 11 miles inland from Hwy 1, it is fog- and wind- protected. Good value for the rate charged.

Room Tip: If in the two story wing, ask for a top floor room as ceilings and walls are not sound-insulated.
