“Good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

I live in Carmel Valley for about eight years now, and always avoided this restaurants for unknown reasons. Maybe because I have not had good experiences before. Yesterday (Tuesday) we realized at 8PM, that we had no food at home and we were hungry. We drove to the village, but non of the places were open, that we liked. The small Thai Village was lit, so we stepped in.
It is a small but warm and inviting place. The lady with accent was kind and even though it was late, she told us she will cook for us.
My boyfriend is allergic to curry, but the menu had many items without curry. I ended up having the chicken noodle soup, that was full of fresh vegetables, white chicken meat and rice noodles. The broth was very rich of flavor, but not overly salty. A huge bowl of soup for $10. My boyfriend had the Thai BBQ chicken, that was crisp and tasty. It came with veggies and rice, plus salad, soup and coconut ice cream... all that for $15.

We loved it so much, will come back for sure .

“Authentic Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Liked the food ere. Everything is prepared fresh and tastes like it should. The staff is friendly and eager to please. I noticed that the window by our table ad spider webs on it, a sign that the cleaning crew s not too thorough (another sign of authenticity). Good Thai fare at a fair price.

“Ethnic variety on the Monterey Peninsula”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

The Monterey Peninsula is a special place with lots of great restaurants. But go inland to picturesque Carmel Valley and ethnic variety beyond Mexican is hard to find. The Thai Village is a recent addition and a curry treat. My wife and I are regular customers. While the decor and furnishings are perhaps a bit basic, the menu is diverse and affordable, the food is authentic and delicious, the staff are ALWAYS warm, welcoming, and accommodating, and service is well above average. But, the food alone brings us back, especially when we're looking for something out of the ordinary.

“Sunny Garden Thai freshness in Carmel Valley Village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

Growing up in the valley, we made a point to dine in the village at least once a month. Wills Fargo for family steak dinners and Plaza Linda mexican food after swim practice, so every visit home includes a drive out to see what good foodie fare we can find. I have always loved Cafe Rustica, but "Thai Village" invited us from across the side street with it's bright umbrellas and beautiful succulent blooming flower boxes. We were promptly served and enjoyed a cold Thai beer while resting in the shade of the valley sun. For $12.00 each we enjoyed two fresh spring rolls with choice of dipping sauce, a farm fresh garden salad and our entrees, coconut curry and shrimp pad medium spice thai noodles. Just simply delectable and a charming little interior suggested that next visit might be dinner. I hope peninsula locals who might whine about the drive realize there is so much to offer in the village and "dining" at lunch allows for feeling pampered whether or not you are a traveler or just out for an adventure..
