It is 3 blocks from the beach and as carmel is a small and quiet town, one can hear the ocean waves crashing while sitting out on the porch. It is done up very beautifully and the owners are just as wonderful. One can entertain themselves playing various board games or reading, while relishing cheese on crackers and good wine. Rooms are nicely done. We came back feeling absolutely rejuvinated and much at peace. One can most certainly leave that place knowing that you'll definitely want to go again, Sea view inn has the calm needed from a holiday and has the feeling of luxury in a well maintained home.

Stayed at the Sea View Inn September 28-30. This place is a gem. We stayed in one of the smallest rooms but found it to be comfortable and very quaint....just like the town. The only regret is that we started our vacation here versus ending it here. This Inn is beautiful, clean, welcoming, and and good mix of attention and privacy. Joy and Margo are delightful hosts. We arrived at 5:00 p.m. to hot tea and biscuits, not to mention sherry and wine. I don't think that the website does this inn justice. I enjoy five star hotels so was a little worried about doing the B&B thing...my worries were put to rest as soon as we turned onto the quiant residential street just a block from the beach. We walked the beach before the lovely continental breakfast served in the parlor. The coffe was wonderful and the atmosphere surpased my expectations. I will return.
Please don't hesitate to book this Inn.

This inn is the BEST one you can find in Carmel! It's walking distance to both the ocean and to town. Being a couple blocks off the main street, you get the real Carmel, romantic charm. This 8 room, restored victorian inn has breakfast and a tea time every day with the friendliest of staff. Each room is different and unique and my husband and I find ourselves wanting to stay longer and longer each time we go. Our relationship always seem to be at it's best when we are in such a beautiful and worry-free place. I have kept in contact with a few of the guests that I have met for the environment is so endearing and warm. If you are looking for a romantic, quiet get away, go to the Sea View Inn.

We spent one night in a 3rd floor room. It's a good rate for the 3rd floor rooms...I might stay there again but it could be improved.
The best feature of the inn was you can hear the surf. You can also see the ocean through the trees but only if you're standing up by the window. The decor was okay, but nothing particularly outstanding. The room was very clean. I don't understand why they didn't fix the shutter in the bathroom, rather than post a note to not open the shutter...the note looked old.
The staff were friendly, but for some reason the place just didn't seem "welcoming". It would have felt more like "home" if the living room area wasn't locked off at night. The bed-side chocolates (two) were skimpy...they'd be better not offering any.
There didn't seem to be any night-lights or perhaps we couldn't find the right light switch for the stairs to the 3rd floor...kinda scary late at night.

The Sea View inn is a lovely inn with a warm and friendly staff. We were there over Valentine's Day weekend, and found it to be a very romantic setting. The only caveat is that it's in a coverted Vistorian house, and the walls were very thin. We found ourselves self-conscious while we were in our small but very charming room.
