This is outdoor theater in the forest of Carmel by the Sea where one can sit among pine and oak trees and enjoy every type of play imaginable from Shakespeare to Broadway. Performances and prices vary depending on the time of year and Production Company. Don't forget to bring warm clothes, a blanket to sit on since the wooden benches are hard, and your picnic to eat before the show begins ! (food is available though). There is not a bad seat in the house and two fires near the stage add to the wonderful atmosphere.

First rate performances put on in the mystical foggy forest setting. The theater group in this town rivals New York. Acoustics are great, benches are hard. Bring a blanket to sit on, and one to wrap up in. Summer here is a misnomer- it never really gets that hot, and on a summer evening the fog will roll in thick. People around you will be breaking out the wine and cheese baskets- but I'd recommend hot chocolate and soup. The theater is difficult to access for handicapped, but do-able with an able partner. If you couldn't park in the lot, the walk back to your car on the city street requires a flashlight because the footing is a bit dangerous on the uneven and steep street.

We had a very fun evening watching Cyrano. Bring a blanket or jackets, something to eat and drink, and be warned they do burn small fires on each side so you will smell like a campfire the next day.
