“A "must do" when in Carmel/Monterey”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

Yes, it does cost$9.50 to drive 17 Mile Drive but it is worth every penny. I've always
Iked entering through the Carmel Gate almost hidden at the end of San Antonio Ave. at the bottom of Ocean Avenue. If you keep to the left and head towards the Lodge at Pebble Beach you'll pass by the most spectacular properties in the area. Make sure to stop by the Lodge not only to explore the stores (and grab a souvenir golf aShirt) but also to walk down to the 18th green to watch golfers finish their rounds (and a spectacular view of the course) as well as the first tee box for those heading out. Continue along 17 Mile Drive and make sure to visit all of the "must sees" including the Lone Cypress. A bonus for visiting in late March/April is the chance to see seals giving birth on some of the small beaches.

“17 mile drive”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

I would recommend not going the entire 17 miles - just go the direction that gets you to the gold course on the ocean. most was not scenic in my opinion.

“You gotta take this drive”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

It cost $10 to drive this but it is so worth it. From high in the trees to down by the rocky coast, it's a great drive. So scenic and fun. Eat at one of the pebble beach golf course restaurants and they will give you the $10 entrance fee off your bill. You can go into the PB golf clubhouse walk out the back door and see hole 18!
