“Really nice lunch on a rainy day”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

We were in Carmel on a rainy Saturday and popped into the Grill for lunch. It was not crowded, so our party of 5 was seated immediately, our server came to inquire about drinks and brought baskets of warm bread as well. I had the Chipotle chicken sandwich was was tasty and served on warm focaccia, though it was not really spicy like you would think a chipotle sandwich would be. Hubby had a bacon burger which was large and moist, without making the bun soggy. One daughter had the chicken quesadilla and said it was quite good but she would have preferred fewer peppers, personally. It was served with an ample amount of pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. Another daughter split the bacon burger and a house salad with her hubby and their salad was brought out with two extra plates as was their bacon burger.

The decor is very nice, there is a rock fireplace near the front of the restaurant. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, our drinks were always replenished without having to ask (a pet peeve of my hubby-having to ask for another glass of soda). The prices are a little higher than you would pay at some places, $75 for 5 of us including drinks and tax, but not bad at all for Carmel. We would certainly consider eating there again when we are in Carmel.

“Very good dinner !”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The wine was very good. The salad and crab cakes were interesting and very tasty. Dessert was chocolate cake and a good cup of tea with honey. Service was pleasant and efficient. The decor was cozy, the shape of the windows is beautiful and the fireplace gave the room a warm glow. The only negative was people showing up to see if they could get a table and the rest of their party standing outside holding the door open on a cold night. We would go back again.

“Nice meal!”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

Stumbled on this little gem of a restaurant whilst walking around town and came back for their 4 course early bird dinner special only we upgraded the dessert. As first time visitors, we had to try the local sand dabs. Quaint atmosphere, terrific service from attentive waiter. Finished dinner in time to watch the sunset only the fog spoiled an almost perfect evening.

“Very Good Food!”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

This place was suggested to us by our hotel manager as being one of the best in Carmel. She was so right!
My husband and I ordered the coconut prawns and sauteed dive scallops. The prawns were huge with a delicious coconut breading. We've never had dive scallops before but they were sweet and large. A saffron rice and vegetables accompanied the meal which was a great pairing with the shell fish.
Truly a great meal.

“SWEET SPOT”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

We only dropped in for coffee, which was great and were really impressed by this little place, tuked neatly away in a charming courtyard.

Very nice staff and great service. Would imagine the food to be equally as good.

So nice, felt compelled to make this short review.
