“Sunset Happy Hour”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

Mission Ranch offers a great spot to grab a drink and watch the sunset. Grab a table next to the fireplace and relax. But beware it becomes very crowded and only a few tables are designated for non dining patrons. If you would like an appetizer while waiting on the sunset to set I would recommend the grilled artichoke. The chipotle aioli dipping sauce is addictive! The clam chowder is also worth a try if you are on a cool evening. Enjoy!

“Loved this place”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

Beautiful setting, a little out of the way, but well worth the short drive from town. Food was excellent and atmosphere was great. Much like an old supper club, with a great bar and tinkling piano and friendly staff and patrons. Views are wonderful, it reminded me of the Dingle Peninsula with the sheep in the meadow and the roaring sea in the background. A memorable stop on our California trip.

“REALLY Let Down!”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

Visiting friends for the weekend who live in the Carmel Highlands area. They took us to Mission Ranch Restaurant for an 8:30pm Sat. evening dinner. Grounds were beautiful and there was a wedding going on in a bldg close to the restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed there were a few empty tables. Seems that a GREAT place would be fairly crowded for Sat evening dinner. Anyway, to make it short, I ordered the Sea Bass and the others in my party ordered the Prime Rib because supposedly it is the best around. My fish came with a fishy odor and the prime ribs were lacking beefy flavor. Flavor that can only come from a fine aged piece of meat. Considering the menu prices, I would think twice about eating dinner there. Apparently the bar is the thing there. It was filled with 50-60 year old somethings trying to pick up each other. Around 10pm the wedding party came in and started yelling and screaming so loud we had to go outside on the patio. It was lovely outside until a plainclothes security guard came over and told us the restaurant was closing at 11:00PM ON A SATURDAY NIGHT!!! Nice!. Oh yeah I forgot, when we mentioned the sub standard quality of the meal the servers answer was, "gee guys I'm sorry." That was it. No "I'll tell the manager" or "I'll mention something to the chef", nope nothing.
Come on Clint, check up on this stuff cuz there are plenty of other quality eateries in the vicinity!
