“Great Little Place in Carmel”
Reviewed July 31, 2014 via mobile

Friendly, energy-filled atmosphere. Great food and service. Good portion sizes. Live music from the owner. Owner shook our hands and thanked us when leaving -- nice touch. Small place -- definitely want to make reservation. Highly recommended.

“Delicious food, and such fun!”
Reviewed July 30, 2014

What a find! Thank you, TripAdvisor reviewers, to pointing me to Yafa. The owner, Jacob, made us feel so welcome. He's a great guy, originally from Jordan. And the Mediterranean cuisine - so delicious! We started with complimentary warm, fresh bread with a divinely seasoned spread. Then the main courses: Chicken kebab for my partner, homemade feta cheese/artichoke ravioli in a tomato-cream sauce for me. Fabulous flavors. Jacob stopped by to share photos of his adorable grandson (also named Jacob), and the live music added to the fun. I usually gravitate toward Italian restaurants, but those pale in comparison with the Yafa.

“Personal Touch with Service and Food”
Reviewed July 29, 2014

This little gem in Carmel is a do not miss. My husband and I received warm greetings at the door from the owner as we entered, without reservations. Assured us he could find a table for the two of us, unless someone got to it before us. Of course, there was a table for us in the now full restaurant. Our waitperson was cheerful, informative, and efficient though she was handling most of the dining room. Excellent choices for dinner included: grilled octopus appetizer was amazing, watermelon salad terrific, Mish-Mash Chicken spicy and filling, Tetas Eggplant fresh and tasty. We had leftovers for lunch the next day. The reason for that are the generous portions and the pistachio pudding we could not resist. It was worth it. We will come again next time we visit Carmel.

“If you like wonderful Mediterranean food, eat here!”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

My daughter and I had the great pleasure of eating here on Saturday - we found it via TripAdvisor. The restaurant is located in an easy to reach area with available parking - not common in Carmel. While casual, the food is absolutely amazing and not a dish on the menu that we wouldn't want to order. We went for the humus and pita, followed by salads (grilled pear and water melon) and mish mish and the special (chicken and shrimp skewers).

The service was prompt, the wine list condense but appropriate and everything very affordably priced. A little impromptu dance act accompanied by great middle eastern music in the middle of dinner only added to what was already a great atmosphere. Again, if you're a foodie look no further!

“Don't miss the Mishmish!”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

Wonderful food, good with gluten-free restrictions, and the owner was so fun to talk with. Had never had (or heard of) Mishmish before, but loved it!
