Description: The legend of Carmel. Formerly owned by Clint Eastwood, he still owns the building-who knows when he will stop by? Kept intact to keep the charm that is the cozy Carmel of yesteryear.

We ate here during happy hour. Our waiter seemed a bit put off that we were ordering from the happy hour menu, but the pork sliders were excellent! We would definitely order them again. The other wait staff were very friendly and helpful...maybe our waiter was just having an off night.

This place was fantastic. The food, the service and the history (at least for me as a Clint Eastwood fan) made for a memorable lunch.

I had the artichoke soup and the crab cake. I was smiling the whole time I was eating. The soup was subtle, but definitely essence of artichoke with a hint of lemon. It was a light cream style soup. I would order it again and again and again.

The crab cake was 100% crab. It was served on a bed of greens with an aoli dressing. As was the soup, it was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced ($12 if I recall, which for a crab cake of this quality is quite reasonable).

The waiters were always standing nearby, keeping a watchful eye. Any need, water, removing plates, more bread or butter, were immediately attended to.

There is some Eastwood memorabilia on the wall, though Clint does not own the restaurant anymore.

The only negative was the men's bathroom. It was smelly and in need of a cleaning. Luckily it was located quite a distance from the dining room.

Everyone had an awesome meal at this restaurant . Not often does this ever happen. We all looked at each other and agreed it was our best meal in Carmel, period! Really cool location, food was spectacular and really not that pricy, especially considering it was terrific. The only thing that could have been improved upon was the wait staff. Not that they were poor by any stretch but a little more smile and attentiveness to a table dropping close to $200 could really seal the deal. Sadly the entire week in California the customer service levels seemed tired at best all over. But as they say on TV, you gotta eat here! Highly recommended .

My husband chose this restaurant after his round of golf at Pebble Beach on St. Patrick's Day. The food and service was very good and a nice ending to his special day!

We went in for early dinner, it was really quiet only three other people eating at the time. Liked the outdoor patio seating and fireplaces. Probably a fun place to meet for drinks on a weekend. But for a family dinner it was over priced and really nothing special other than the fact that a famous person owned it.
