Caraccioli Cellars in downtown Carmel is very sleek and stylish with a lively atmosphere. It feels more like a trendy wine bar than a tasting room. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy but not overcrowded; we were able to get seats at the bar without waiting. The tasting cost $10 for four tastes from the menu or $4 for an individual tasting. All wines were also available by the glass and they had a selection of cheese and meat platters. The staff were friendly but, unlike other tasting rooms we have visited, they were not very attentive and seemed less knowledgeable about the wines they were pouring. The sparkling wines were the real highlight for us at Caraccioli, particularly the 2007 Brut Rose.
